I'm at my wit's end here. Everything works fine except Live TV. I get no video. I can record, and the recording is fine. If I pause Live TV and then resume, I get video. But no amount of changing the renderer nor decoders has worked to get video when I try to just watch Live TV. I get sound just fine.

I am running XP x64 SP2
Athlon64 x2 2.70 GHz
4 GB RAM
GeForce 8800 GT
Hauppauge WinTV HVR-2250

I would appreciate any insight anybody is able to give me.

A quick and dirty fix - turn off Live Preview mode on the Misc tab of config. That's equivalent to hitting pause, then resume.

Longer term, search your logs for "fail" or "error" (or post them here)

Well, I fixed it. I'm not sure which of the things I did actually worked.

I updated my video drivers (which did not appear to help).

I reinstalled DirectX (which also made no immediate difference).

And finally, I did a "clean" install of GB-PVR and started all over with the configuration. I made the same configuration choices. I saved the configuration, applied the patches from the survival thread, and rebooted. This time it worked fine. I also noticed that with the clean install, other things are working better. For instance, it used to take about 90 seconds to save a changed configuration, but with the clean install it saves promptly. I'm guessing something, somewhere, got corrupted in the other install.

I'm just tickled pink that it's all working as it should now.

P.S. -- Dennit, thanks so much for the tip. If this happens again, I'll be using it! MUCH easier than what I did. Smile
