I am running GBPVR on XP SP3. The windowed instance (and the actual monitor) are 4:3 where as the live TV looks to be wide.

I cant resize the window as it appears constrained to 4:3 and the paly back setting in config has no effect (at least to live TV, I cant check playback yet as that is not working and I am seeking advice in another post)

F7 changes the picture within the instance, but all options produce a compressed width picture.

Have I missed a setting somewhere or is this a restriction in GBPVR under XP?

You haven't missed anything - the GBPVR window will always have the same aspect ratio as your monitor. After you think about it a little, it makes good sense.

Thanks for your prompt response:

I can understand this if I am running full screen, but even then I'd expect a letterbox type display to allow correct aspect ratio of the picture.

But with a windowed instance of GBPVR (ie a quarter of the desktop taken up), I'd have hoped for a wide screen display to be achievable. But on resizing the the window from the bottom right the window's aspect is fixed (ie not allowing me to make it wider without adjusting height)

If that's not achievable, then I'll assume it is a limitation

interestingly, after http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post346039 the play back is in correct aspect ratio - so we must be making progress?

Full TS is just for debugging - only use it if requested by sub - it records the full stream and can't be played - you should give TS mux a try though - thats the one which allows you to record multiple channels on a single tuner.

Thanks - I am sure I'd tried all permatations of this (but i could be mistaken, and did also have other issues with my set up).

I have this working correctly now, so thanks for (re) pointing me to this option
