I just got this card and got it installed and everything, but When I run PVRx2.exe all i get is the sound for the channel. Video and audio comes in fine in WMC. Just wondering if I didn't set up something right or some other user error. I'm using XP SP3, and the newest GBPVR. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

here they are... i figure you probably didn't need the extra logs with the appendages -1 -2 -3 but included them anyway. I had recently messed around with a stuff trying to get it to work. Hope these help.

Its not finding any MPEG2 video decoder.

Try installing and selecting this one:

Rookie mistake I suppose. It turns out that my cable signal doesn't have any digital channels, can the 2250 support two analog devices. As in one would be recording and the other would be live or does it only apply to two different signals? Thanks again for everything

Yes it can. It has two tuners that can be used for pretty much anything. Some possible cominations are:
  • Record 2 analog stations.
  • Record 1 analog, watch 1 analog station.
  • Record 1 analog, 1 digital station.
  • Record 1 analog, watch 1 digital station.
  • Record 1 digital, watch 1 analog station.
  • Record 2 digital stations.
  • Record 1 digital, watch 1 digital station.

Note that it only has one connection and an internal splitter so both tuners would be either cable or OTA. You can't have one tuner on an antenna and one on cable. Other than that, you are pretty much unlimited.

I thought that all cable companies in the US had to include local tv channels in clear QAM. What is your cable company? Have you been told something specific from them?

I thought that whole "Hey, everyone in the US is going digital" applied to everyone in the US, but this apartment complex I'm currently at is strange enough to not do that. It's NTC in Athens, GA. When I set up the QAM device, imported the EPG, and got ready to map digital channels, I got none out of 138. If you were actually interested in looking at the EPG or needed more info, it's NTC Rivermill in Athens, GA. 30605

Just because you're not getting them doesn't mean they are not available. My limited understanding is that cable has to offer the same channels you should be able to get with a digital ATSC antennae in clear QAM.
Take a look at this. These are the OTA channels for your zip code. I don't see NMT Rivermill listed as an operator in that zip code but do see Comcast in the surrounding area.
Make sure you have the latest drivers for your device. Also, when testing, you might try removing any splitters you have on your cable and make sure you are using good quality cables and they are tight.

It's quite possible that your cableco has the digital channels on different frequencies from those you scanned. Try the QAM.ini Manager.
