loss of aspect on new show transition

about a third of the time when watching timeshift tv, transition to a new show/new file will change from auto to fill aspect even tho still set on auto...
it usually happens more often on second show transition to new show, or after long pauses..
sometimes it won't even transition to new show, just black screen...
even on 30 min shows..plenty of hd space...
i just viewed the file in question from video library and it reads the aspect fine there..so not a file problem..so glitch in how it's read on reload only..

looks like it just can't read aspect info of next file even tho there's nothing i can see different about the files...even same show so would assume it's encoded same..[Cash Cab]
[this is on analog capture source, tho it doesn't seem to matter which hardware]

any changes in upcoming release on the filters?

happened again after only a minute into a viewing when show transitioned to a new show..
show that didn't read aspect, "John Oliver:Trying Times"

I cant think of any reason for this, but I'll try to find some time later to day to see if I can reproduce it.

cool,thanx....yea it happens only if set to 'auto' on analog .mpg with ati mux, timeshifting livetv...
seems to happen more if you pause for about 3 mins before new show transition occurs..
but last one occurred only a couple mins in with almost no pause delay..

Unlike digital broadcasts analog captures don't have any aspect ratio flag, they are all 4x3. Perhaps auto is adjusting to a letterboxed commercial or something like that, between shows.

normally it sees the aspect as 4:3 in logs, but on occasion it can't determine aspect, and resorts to 'fill'...which is bad for 4:3 on 16:9 tv...

something going on with the sensing of new timeshift files...sometimes it can't read any of the new file and just shows black..

nothing wrong with the files, they are same as previous...on subsequent viewing it can detect them correctly...so it's just on transition that it can't read them...maybe too quick, and that info not ready to be read yet? maybe a retry would do it?
