When I was using the old installer method for linking GBPVR and my PCH A-110, there were a limited number of things I could do with the PCH remote. I often wished the PCH remote would mimic most of the functionality that the Huappauge remote had directly with my computer.
When I had to reinstall the connection to GBPVR after installing a hard drive in my PCH, the semiautomated install program provided somewhere in the forums worked well. But I was left with one problem that I would like to address here:
The PCH remote is now even more limited than it was before. Though I can fast forward (2x, 4x, 8x, etc) in time delayed shows, I can no longer control shows that are completely recorded in this manner through GBPVR (I instead have to go to the PCH network browser, and find the recording that GBPVR has made and control it from the PCH exclusively). This is just a small example of the partial functionality that I am left with.
I was wondering, is there an application that could be made for GBPVR or for the PCH itself so that the user could fine tune the functionality of their PCH remote (and even the remote that talks directly to the GBPVR computer)? If not, could someone point me to the instructions for manually adjusting the PCH remote myself?

Honestly I have no idea of what you are asking for in about in your post. I went through a lot of work to to give GBPVR users the GBPVR interface on the PCH. This includes time seeking with the previous and next keys which maybe you don't use, but many people like them. I've seen GBPVR make posts on the NMT forum asking for that interface

You can always go back to the obsolete version of mvpmcx2 in the NMTInstall program and set PCH mode in your config.xml and you will get the old interface back.

Alternatively in PCH2 mode hit USB Eject and Play and the file will be played using the NMT player.

As for the Hauppauge remote, are you comparing it's use with the old Hauppauge MVP software. If so that is not how GBPVR is designed, which is outside my control. If you mean using the Hauppauge remote with GBPVR every single key is duplicated with equivalent functionality, I've even made some changes so you could use the Hauppauge remote.

I think I understand. I played with linking my A-100 PCH to GBPVR last night and got the same behavior - when I run the GBPVR interface and I play an avi from the video library it plays using the NMT player and I can ff/rw just fine, but if I play a recorded mpeg from the Recordings directory I can't ff/rw at all. When I hit the Info button it pulls up the GBPVR osd and the time line sits at zero.

I'm thinking this is because I'm running GBPVR 1.3.7, I'm sure I saw where this was addressed in a post and the issue was because they were using GBPVR program files older than about April of this year (if I recall correctly).

I see Sub has a new version out and he specifically mentioned it had some improvements for NMTs in it so I'm working on installing the new update tomorrow.

The main improvements are really all the patches that you would have had if you used NMTInstall to install GBPVR updates.

I have been a long time MVP user so I may be missing some function that can be preformed on the PC that isn't available on the MVP but for me my remote for the NMT does almost everything I can do on the PC & does everything + more than I can do on my MVP's.

What version of GB-PVR, mvpmcx2 are you using & what mode for it is selected (PCH or PCH2) in config under your MAC address? Might be a good idea to upload some logs for Martin to have a look at to see if he can see something wrong with your setup. To me it doesn't sound like your getting the most you can out of your NMT & GB-PVR integration.

Sounds exactly like what I am experiencing using 1.3.11 and NMT. No FF. Reverse was never an option. Right clicking on the right side of the circular button now increases the volume but doesn't time seek in 20 second intervals. Left side of the circular button now decreases volume, not backwards time seek by 20 second intervals. No ability to bring up the GBPVR menu on the bottom half of the screen (as with the Huappauge remote or from the keyboard of the computer). Speed of channel access is improved however, but no ability to skip over commercials by fast forward or time seek.

Anyhow, I'm just seeking info on what to look at within my own system to correct these issues (presumably the wiki is out of date). I am also suggesting that it may be a good idea to have an interface where a user can set up these by on screen association with the keyboard function of the computer running GBPVR. Perhaps this is impossible?

cc1091 you can bitch all you want, but that isn't going to help you find a solution. Here's the link on the proper way to post support questions
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=16767 I'm sure you will like this when you find out what you've done wrong.

Your system is not working right as I can do all the things you say you can't on mine. The wiki is fairly well up to date actually but I don't think it will help you unless you decide to start from scratch.

No Jaggy, it's simple I just need to see the logs when he tries to do a skip to see what is going on. I don't think he is in PCH2 mode.

I agree with you & that was what I was getting at with my earlier message in this thread!
