Hi sub.

I can't get 1.4.7 to watch a TV channel. Actually, it tunes in the channel so I can see/hear it, then a second later displays "No signal detected. Please ensure that the antenna cable is connected or that the antenna signal is strong enough."

So I downgraded to 1.3.11 and watching a TV channel works again.

Logs attached for 1.4.7 failure, then 1.3.11 success. All I did between was uninstall 1.4.7, reboot, then install 1.3.11.

My setup:
Windows 7 RC 64-bit
Hauppauge Nova-T 500 dual DVB-T - on the latest driver (4.3.26168.0)

By the way - I am looking to upgrade (side-grade?) my DVB-T card, because I occasionally miss recordings coming out of Sleep mode. I'm leaning towards the Hauppauge HVR2200 PCI-e dual tuner card - because I've read that it doesn't have problems resuming from Sleep. Any comments from owners ?

I see you've got your decoders set to 'system default'. Try explicitly selecting other decoders.

I just tried setting them to the 3rd and 4th listed devices. Hope that is what you meant. Same result as before - logs attached (once again, works in 1.3.11, not in 1.4.7 - with same settings. Still getting the "No Signal Detected" error after briefly seeing/hearing the channel.

New logs attached - including a snap of the device types listed for my PC.

No, I mean the H.264 and HE-AAC decoder settings on the playback tab of the config app.

Ah - got it. Same result when I set the H.264 Decoder and AAC Decoder explicitly. Fails in 1.4.7, works when I downgrade to 1.3.11. Logs attached - including config.xml

Have you tried any video decoders other than CoreAVC?

Hi sub. Just tried the win 7 default video decoder "Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder". Once again - in 1.4.7 I see the picture for a second, then see the "No Signal Detected" message. This time, I tried recording a program for a few seconds (which worked), then watching the channel again (which didn't work). Logs attached.

As before, downgrading to 1.3.11 (which didn't have the "Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder" option, so I took the CoreAVC one again) works (both for watching, and recording). Logs attached.

Cheers, Simon B.

To be honest, I dont really know what to suggest. I cant see any obvious cause in your logs.

Hi sub. No problems. I'll stay on 1.3.11 for now. When I pull the trigger on a Hauppauge HVR2200 I'll come back and update this thread if it resolves the problem.

Big Grin

Decided to buy an Hauppauge HVR-2200 (to replace my Hauppauge Nova-T 500). Very impressed with Ascent - card arrived 4 hours after ordering !

The main thing is - all resolved. 1.4.7 now works (logs attached). Thanks for your help yesterday sub - much appreciated.

Cheers, Simon B
