Hi. I got my refurb, upgraded GBPVR and installed the NMT. A couple of basic questions:

1. Does installing a HDD in the NMT help GBPVR in any way?

2. How do you tell MVPMC to start video playback in "Full Screen"? It seems as though it starts in "Fit to Screen".

This is really MILES ahead of the MVP! EXCELLENT work!

1. There is no advantage to running with a HD unless you have a specific network problem where you would need to transfer files slowly perhaps as part of post-processing.

2. mvpmcx2 reads the default settings from the NMT Setup software for aspect ratio and full vs fit.

Glad it is working for you. For next time, note that you posted in the wrong forum.

As of this morning, I played a SD file and it was displayed in 4:3 fit; I had to switch it to full zoom. I verfiied that the PCH is set to full. Is there a reboot/restart sequence that needs to be done, or will mvpmcx2 pick up new settings on the fly?

Regarding the post, I thought I was doing right by using the MVP & NMT forum. Where does this belong and how do I distinguish it from the other forums?

I know it is confusing about the forums, the current layout wasn't my choice. Yes it picks up setting on the fly. Use the zoom key to toggle mode. Are you confusing crop with full?

No, crop is last in the rotation. I have to click zoom to get it out of original aspect and fit to get to full. The PCH is definitely set to Full.

Does it match the table here http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...tcount=71? I know I have worked this with the beta test team, and they indicated that the setting were logical. I don't remember myself. I know I default to pillar box like I perfer on both the PCH and in mvpmcx2 and it toggles to stretch and crop.

The PCH is set to Full but the pillars appear. I prefer pillars on Samsung, but my Philips has an excellent Superzoom mode that does a great job minimizing distortion so I prefer viewing SD content full screen with the superzoom on.

Are you getting the same behaviour with GBPVR and with the NMT player? If so is your firmware current? I cannot get pillar box in Full mode on SD content.

Thinking about it logically if you do wan to use SuperZoom it sounds like you'd want to use Fill and let the TV do the progressive scan.

No, the NMT displays the video full screen and GB-PVR has pillars.

Fill is equal to Full. The choices are Actual, Fit, Crop, and Full. Full fills the screen.

mvpmcx2 doesn't offer actual. In any case I guess mvpmcx2 doesn't understand your monitor, but you can override the NMT setting with a command line option, assuming fit does what you want add --zoom fit to your command line in startmeup
