Updating a new skin.xml

When skin.xml changes as MixMan and I will be doing for Web Radio is it better to load a new skin name ie newskin.xml rather than failing on missing values in the existing skin.xml files that will found in other packages?

That is not how any existing plugin method works, they always use a newer version of the same skin.xml file.
Other clever solutions were to put a version tag in the xml file that the plugin looks for. If it is not found, it copies the skin.xml file over from blue. A forum search may give more details.
