Right.....WAF is quite low for the MVP in the bedroom...a bit slow and unreliable using TSmux+idigial live tv . so I am considering replacing it for something else, choices are as I see it:

NMT PCH A-1oo refurb at around £95
Wait for Hauppauge HD-MVP
Atom based thin client
something elase???

I dont really care about HD (It's the bedroom)
Priority is live TV using TSmux with either DVB-T/S source
TV is smal with no hdmi input..but may be replaced one day.
Low maintainence+power

Basically I need flawless live tv and replay of recordings on SD .
Also bearing in mind my priorities whats the difference between PCH A-100 & A-110 ???

i'd say the a100 is your best bet...clients are still not as good as far as livetv goes, but they do get plugins...
the pch has almost identical user experience as main machine, except for a slower startup of livetv and channel changing can go bonkers..but this also happens on clients..

it's definitely the cheapest/quietest way to go...Smile

not sure what the status of streaming livetv .ts is on clients, but there was a patch and it worked well for last version...
clients still have recording screen comskip issues, tho it works well from vid library..

I assume you have had a read of this thread? http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=42956 you will see there are lots of us very happy with the integration of the NMT & GB-PVR & with the refurb'ed A100's available at the moment I think it's close to a no brainer right now. (so much so I have recently ordered four of them, three for my brother & one for the wife to go along with my M35a that I have already got)

Think of the NMT as a MVP on steroids that will play a heap more formats & you will get some idea what it's like.

I'm not sure what sub is doing with his MVP-HD but currently I don't feel there is a compelling reason to support it with another client. I don't expect I will be buying one.

..

My PCH experience has been pretty good so far, but not quite to the MVP level yet. I am still working through a very new install. Playback is awsome. I am curious on pBS's issues with channel changing because that is where I am struggling. (it gets stuck on a channel and I can't change it) I expect my issues are not common. My vote for a client would be the PCH based on simplicity. I have done both PC and PCH clients now and lean toward the PCH.

however, as far as i see, you'll not be able to plug in a PCH without hdmi input Sad

What about component or svideo? My A100 has those connections to.

use svideo on tv if it has it, if not, then a composite will do nicely...PCH can connect to anything except RF...[coax] so that's not a problem..

channels changes are kinda iffy...now days i just go back to menu or guide and select another channel cuz i got used to it from the clients...but the pch does work in this respect, i think on pch it was just having problems going from digital -> analog or vice-versa..most of the time it changes fine..Smile [clients almost never change properly for me...]
may also be cuz i'm on a plain wireless g connect...

oh, i'm sorry, you are right! i just had my old crt in mind, which has only 1 input (scart), but even this should work with some kind of adapter

Although this is not a support thread if you are having problems with channel changing on the PCH note

- I have never had a problem tuning on the same tuner. 1.4.7 corrects the problems I had changing from analog/digital. If you have problems on 1.4.7 please post some logs on the mvpmcx2 forum

- If feel there are HD-PVR channel change problem on the PC and all clients,

- Turn off minimual OSD for the MVP (it's better for other reasons too) and force the use of the enter key for numeric keying to confirm that the keystrokes are being received.

<ChannelChangeWithoutEnterKey>false</ChannelChangeWithoutEnterKey>
