Ordered an A-100 refurb this morning, thanks all for the replies. Should be an interesting execise getting it up and running looks a bit daunting...is it better to follow the wiki or go to the mvpmcx2 thread....I guess latest info is on the forum?

As an aside has anyone used a pc monitor as a tv, am thinking it could be a cheaper way to a bigger screen capable of HD in the bedroom..i guess aspect ratio and viewing angle are the constraints.

Just had a quick look at the guide, doesn't look to bad...a few bits that don't make sense to me right now.but I only had a quick look. Hopefully it will arrive before wife dissapears for a week to enable a nice slow paced install.

of course as soon as I have it working the basics you know I'll be knocking on your door about that wifi web cam stream again!

One thing you can educate me on...would a PCH work without MVPMCx2 (with gbpvr)...like the MVP with the Hauppauge dongle? Just that I see on the PCH website that gbpvr is an advertised feature.

If you can load mvpmc from a share, I expect you will be up in running in under 1/2 an hour.

That will need to wait until I work on UbuStream.

The advertised feature is mvpmcx2. It's not the same concept as Hauppauge. As a media extender it can play GBPVR captured files without the GBPVR interface using many different ways, but you want to play mpeg's with mvpmcx2.
