MVPMCX2 and 576/PAL support on NMT

Martin, I think that there is a misunderstanding. MVPMCX2 runs as expected, I can exit from MVPMCX2 to gaya.
If I reboot the the NMT and do not run mvpmcx2 I can change to any resolution in the setup menu and save without a black screen. However as soon as I have run mvpmcx2, return to gaya and then change the resolution in the setup menu I allways get a black screen.

I am absolutely willing to participate in solving this problem. I have installed a telnet client on my PC and can telnet to the A-110 and get the following line:
/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK #
When I enter the mvpmcx2 command it says:
/bin/sh: mvpmcx2: not found

I understand what the issue is, but my goal is too get mvpmcx2 working in edtv mode for you for general use. If you have to power off to go to another mode I am not too concerned, although I will spend a little time with you trying to fix it.

You are in the wrong folder, on CSI run

/share/Apps/mvpmcx2/bin/mvpmcx2

Martin, I hope that this is what you wanted. Did a reset and started mvpmcx2 from telnet as you described in the previous post.

Sorry, no it isn't that just shows a crash condition, Is that the new mvpmcx2 running? If not please update it. I also see that you are running just 576i mode, I want to see 576p mode.

Reboot to get a clean setup and then start telnet I want to see mvpmcx2 running and exiting and then see if any errors show when you switch modes.

It is the new version. Will switch to 576p and repeat the exercise. Will come back.

With 576p I am getting the same result. It again crashed after starting mvpmcx2.
I have noticed this before. If I then install an older (previous) version of mvpmcx2, set resolution at 720p, start mvpmcx2, close mvpmcx2 and then overwrite mvpmcx2 with the 9 sept version and reboot it works again. I am afraid that all this has the same relation as the black screen in my original bug.
Because it is now prime time here I will continue the test tomorrow as otherwise my wife will be upset

I was able to duplicate the problem, but I've had the PCH freeze changing modes without ever using mvpmcx2 so I don't consider having to power off a major issue, this is normally only done once.

However if you are doing this so you can run gaya and mono at a higher res than mvpmcx2, my recommendation would be to configure your PCH for 720p/1080p/1080i as needed, and run the mvpmcx2 in edtv mode The command line you want is -m pal -o component --edtv

Since you aren't running a startmeup on CSI you need to create another file on your PCH, /share/Apps/mvpmcx2/bin/useropt.sh and the line you need inside it is

/share/Apps/mvpmcx2/bin/mvpmcx2 -m pal -o component --edtv

GBPVR files will be play at 576p which you want and others will play up to 1080p

I am glad that you were able to reproduce the problem. However the problem is also when you just exit, so not power off, from the mvpmcx2/gbpvr interface back to gaya which is required when you want to play movies from DVD's and other content.
I shall follow your suggestion, add the required file and come back on the outcome. Again thanks for all the support!

Have installed your latest software (the one which is also supposed to support 576i), set the NMT to 576p and started mvpmcx2 but I just get a black screen with your proposed useropt.sh which should give 576p in GBPVR. So nothing fancy yet with different resolutions for the NMT and GBPVR. Just testing 576p mode.
When I delete the useropt.sh and the NMT is (still) set at 576p it works. If I re-enable the useropt.sh but remove all options leaving only the startup command I again get a black screen.
Something very funny is going on here

BTW: was something changed in zoom and/or ratio? Your version of 9/9 gave automaticly full screen while now I get full width but not height.
