Failed recordings, machine remains hibernated

Just over a week ago I changed my GBPVR PC's power settings. After 10 minutes it would hibernate. I was impressed that GBPVR woke the machine and recorded TV programmes as normal and saved me having it powered up 24/7.

However a couple of days ago it stopped waking up. I've no idea why this is but I'm hoping someone can suggest a way of getting the PC waking up to record programmes.

I've attached the logs in case it helps.

It looks like gbpvr is asking Windows to wake up (from GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log)

I guess it isn't waking up for the EPG update either?

Did you tweak anything in the BIOS when you changed power settings? I think once Windows has been told to wake at a certain time this is then done in hardware.

I think it has to be a Windows/BIOS/Hardware thing rather then gbpvr.

I've not touched the BIOS in months. I'm using XP+SP3 and used the control panel to enable hibernation after 10 mins.

When I first enabled hibernation it didn't wake to update the guide data but I checked the box in GBPVR configuration and all was well.

I'm at a loss to understand what's changed in the last couple of days.

Whenever I have had wake from sleep issues, it has been down to some particular driver - once a sound card, another time it was some drivers for a USB mouse. A nice free tool to test and report on your PC's abilities can be found here; http://www.passmark.com/products/sleeper.htm
Maybe you could try switching between S1/S3/S4 to see if it makes any difference.
I totally rely on my bedroom PC waking up - I use it as my alarm clock!

That's an awesome program. It showed that hibernate wasn't working. I'm investigating. Thanks for your help.
