Be careful when you use the term "NMT" some people use it to mean media extender, I use it to mean software using the Syabas Networked Media Tank firmware. That Eminent model is not an NMT.

OK I'm learning :o
Maybe I misted this information somewhere on the forum but is there a list which devices can be used as a GBPVR full HD client? I assume the Popcorn A-110, the eGreat M34, any other models Rolleyes

I just found this list on the Internet and a very usefull wiki page for comparison: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...p/Products

Syabas NMT powered media players

Popcorn Hour A-100, A-110, B-110 popcornhour.com
Digitek HDX900, HDX1000 hdx1080.com
DuneHD Ultra, dune-hd.com
ISTAR Mini, istarhd.com
ISTAR H5, http://www.hdplex.net
eGreat EG-M31A, EG-M31B egreathd.com
Shenzhen Elektron EHP-600, 606 Mini elektron-china.com
CMI SYVIO-200 cmicable.com
Dueple 700D dueple.se
AVeL LinkPlayer2, iodata.com
Eminent EM7070, http://www.eminent-online.com
Kaifa EP6000, http://www.kaifa.com.cn/eng
Kaiboer K100, K200 http://www.kaiboerhd.com
Elektron EHP-606 http://www.elektron-china.com/en
Dragontech ioBox 100HD http://www.dragontechcorp.com

As for price in my region the eGreat M34 is around 150€ but I've also seen a product called XTreamer at 119€ but I'm not sure this one will work as it has a realtek chipset. Can anyone confirm?

All the best

Bavan, as I explained a couple of posts back, the Xtreamer and other Realtek based devices are not Syabas NMT's and mvpmcx2 will not run on them.

Martin,
thanks for clarifying.

So I've got to go for one of the listed Syabas devices in the above list. I just want to avoid paying nearly double the price (Popcorn which by the way are very fine looking devices) of what I need and as we have multiple MVP's in the house, which I would like to replace in time, I'm trying to find my way at best cost price/quality towards functionality. Maybe in the end the best choice is the Popcorn A-110 but it doesn't come cheap in this region (+/- 210 € without disk).

PS: The MVP's are fine (quality is ofcourse not HD) but they can not play VIDEO_TS (VOB) ripped DVD's from my NAS which is one of the major reasons why I'm walking the learning curve towards selecting a NMT (HD GBPVR client) to replace them. I've got the chance to test a RTD1073 and for about 100€ it was offering incredable network multimedia and picture quality / functionality (incl internet radio / NAS / FTP / BT download etc). But again without having the feature of using it as a GBPVR client it's not an option although it doesn't need GBPVR to play my ripped DVD's, Foto's & music as it is a standalone multimedia player concept without all the TV recording extra's you have in GBPVR. And that's where the WAF/DAF/SAF comes into the ... picture

Note: I'm not sure whether you have noticed but i.e. the ACRyan Playon!HD also has the possibility lo load external applications into his menu's, which I suppose are pure Linux based, and that's why I walked that road to see if it could be used as a GBPVR client as it's not expensive neither. So unfortunately, GBPVR client, not at this point but who knows in time ... "Yes we can" ... Oeps ... I've said to much (just joking).

Anyway your feedback and advice has been much appreciated.
Ciao.
