A plugin that allows you to set a sleep timer where after a specified time, the unit will shut off... maybe even have an option to have that as the default in case you leave for the weekend and forget to turn off the unit [Image: smile.gif]
If you want to know why nPVR is the bomb, ask my wife!

Using powermanagement of Windows, you can make the computer going into standby after e.g. 1 hour of no-activity. This works good in combination with GB-PVR. One drawback: you cannot have the "next recording" panel on the main screen; this panel causes frequent disk-access that prevents going into standby

To be really useful, a plugin like this should also have the possibility of waking the computer up in time to start the next recording.
It seems like it is actually quite possible to do:

At the moment, I haven't had a chance to look at it, but it seems interesting enough..!

GBPVR does wake from standy/hibernate mode to do recordings, or have I missed something in this thread?

Cheers,

Just remember that it wakes up at the time you told it to start record. Give enough prepadding to give the computer time to start up before the show begins =)

It also wakes up to update EPG data, if you check the checkbox in the config app.

Sounds like an excellent candidate for a new parameter (TimeToBoot or something..), but I guess prepadding a couple of extra minutes will have to do.. Wink

I had always been able to record in standby and update my epg but recently, that changed and I don't know why. I noticed my epg was 'empty' and I manaully updated it.
One other strange thing I noticed is that when I wake my computer from standby, my speakers are now always muted.
Very strange indeed.
