Whenever I turn on my pc after a cold boot I get only a black screen when I click on Live TV. The strange thing is that this only happens when my pc has been off for a while.

If I go to config to check if my tuners are picking up the channels I can see the channels working.

If I bring my computer back from hibernate this doesn't happen.

I attached my logs.

I have the same problem however, I cannot watch live TV because my screen always stays black. I have a HVR-2250. Perhaps I have the same problem and l would very much like to find a solution.

Does it start to work if you just channel up/down after starting live tv?

In my case I think it might be a hardware issue. I'm using 2 Avermedia A188C. And there's been reports of it dissapearing. I'll have to investigate further.

Might not be related, but I had an experience using MCE Standby tool. I had it scheduled for an auto-reboot after EPG update. EVERYTIME it did that, when I woke it up, I had black screen, requiring a reboot. Disabling the auto-reboot solved my problem.

I had MCE standby tool installed in the beginning but I uninstalled way before I installed GBPVR.

Post #6 may be JMT's problem anyway.

Do you have PVRX2.exe in your startup folder to start or do you boot directly into GBPVR? If so, maybe it is starting a little too fast? That could be solved with a batch file with a time delay so your tuner has time to power up.

I'll have to try this. Today I got the black screen again. It happened this morning when I turned on my htpc from hibernate. Although I don't have it as a startup item. I launch it using a frontend.

As much as I blame MCE Standby Tool, I still use it, but I use the add-on Hoborg made to add a script to repower the card. Check his signature, he has a link to it there.
