have a bit of an issue trying to get zprocess up and running with the latest version of gbpvr. The main goal is playing a ton of avi movies (400+ GB) that I have ripped to a central location.
Currently I have tried to install zprocess (2) many times and I have never encountered all the prompts which are listed in the wiki guide.
I have already installed mplayer with mencoder and it keeps asking to find it. Once I set it, I can continue into the main window. I try and use the default options of ffmpeg or mencoder and the MVP either crashes within a couple seconds or doesn't play any audio. I have tried to follow multiple guides and post threads about possible reasons/options for things not working and nothing.
If anybody can offer any hints on what they have done to get this working. When using 1.3.7 I had everything working like a charm. I upgrade and it all goes down the toilet...

hmmm... I have to admit I haven't upgraded yet. (Been busy with other things) I have been reading the prerelease threads and release threads of the latest release, and was pretty sure that sub didn't do anything with the mechanism within GB-PVR that ZProcess works with.

I will have to have a look.

Thanks Frank.

Here are the recent logs from when I was trying to get things up and running. Please let me know if you need any other info/logs/screenshots and so on.

Thanks

I am having a similar problem since I upgraded to the latest gbpvr. I had zprocess working smoothly on the old version. I have tried to reinstall zprocess several times and it never asks me to register itself into gpbvr. Prior to my first installation (after upgrading gbpvr) I could transcode avi's to my MVP (but with the aspect ratios off, as expected). Now, when I select a avi file on my MVP, it crashes every time and it doesn't even seem to start ztranscode.exe on my computer. I can't seem to make it even call on the needed transcoding programs. I was able to make the computer manually transcode a file, but not from the MVP. Please Help! I will attach logs.

It's still going to be a few days before I can test this. But I will...

My suspicion, since selecting an avi on my MVP won't cause ztranscode.exe to open on my computer like it used to, is that there may be something wrong in my gbpvr config file. Zehd, do you have a list of all the correct changes that zprocess should have made in my config file? I could try to check it manually. [caveat: I am not a programmer].

Another question first. If you open ZTranscode manually, does it transcode the file you want to view?

I should state for all:

That whenever you upgrade GB-PVR, all ZProcess settings in the config.xml are always removed during the upgrade process. One must always re-register ZProcess

Yes, it seems to transcode and work manually. I may try to reinstall gbpvr and then zprocess again tonight to see if it will register itself correctly this time.

Further clues: I uninstalled gbpvr 1.4.7 and reinstalled it and reinstalled zprocess. Zprocess did not ask to register itself with gbpvr (and yes, I do activate the removeallzprocess.reg file before opening zprocess). It only asked if I was PAL or NTSC. No luck, mvp still crashes on any avi and does not start up ztranscode. (on this attempt I forgot to see if the reinstalled gbpvr would transcode avi's with incorrect aspect ratios on its own. So then I unintstalled gbpvr 1.4.7 and installed 1.3.11. Before I did anything with zprocess, I confirmed that gbpvr 1.3.11 could transcode avi's on its own with the incorrect aspect ratios. I then installed zprocess, and this time it did ask to register itself with gbpvr (yay!). Then my MVP crashed with any avi and did not activate ztranscode on my computer (boo.). So then I activated removeallzprocess.reg again and then tried to re-install zprocess. This time it did not ask me to register itself with gbpvr. Is there something in my registry that is not being taken out by removeallzprocess.reg? Could there be something in my gbpvr config file that is messed up. If its the registry, I don't think that I have the skills; but maybe I'll delete my config file and re-install gbpvr with a fresh one. I don't think that there would be anything too special in there that I couldn't set up again with the config application.
