good question, and should we be using the hauppauge pvr software with the GB-PVR, any improvment or added functionality? and how do you disable the hauppauge MVP service?

Here's what to do stop all gbpvr services. download the happauge software , install it per instructions, then unplug your mvp & plug back in and let the happauge software load. Then go to pc and and stop hauppauge software. You will want to disable it to start automatic when pc boots, to do this go to my computer, right click it, and select manage, go to services & applications and services, click that. Go down to mediamvpsvc click on that and change from automatic to manual. After you have done that start mediamvpgbpvr server..
I've been confused about this procedure for a while now. Since the MVP, as far as I can tell, consists of a Flash based boot-loader and the downloaded RAM image, how does installing and running the Hauppauge affect things. Does the MVP unit get reflashed with every new release, or does GBPVR pick up the new RAM based image somehow. If so, couldn't you just copy the RAM load image to the GBPVR directories ?
