1.4.7 Failed recordings.

They were all my wife's recordings, so would have been recurring, scheduled off the tv guide. Most of them were dailys, 1 off the pvr500 (Sky) and the others were all off one mux of the dvb-s (Tv2 and 1).

They'd been there a while I think. My own thoughts are around the resume from s1 or the use of the PCH....but the pch use was after 08:01, and was in two sessions.

What happenens within the recording server when turning off the pch (we turn it off by hitting the power button, getting back to the PCH UI, then power button again to turn it off - then screen goes off).

Does the recording service restart? Does the pch copy of pvrx2 restart as this point or become idle?

Do you think that would be the factor?

I think the RecordingService is watching the task id(s) of the PVRx2 instance and when the task dies a new one is launched. If you only have one MVP server autostarting you know this process is working when the new MVP logs file says

MVP Control thread waiting connection

I'm extremely hard on the pvx2x server and the watchdog process in the recording service is very robust.

Ok, that's good. So must be something in the wake up bit that has failed.

Was grasping at straws more than anything else.

Looks like it got stuck again over night. I ran a test recording of criminal minds (tv1 about 9:30ish).

Here's the log from this point, there was an error at 21:52:26

But the system may have hung by this point I can't tell.

One thing I'll add now as well. I run a pvrx2 -import twice a day.....at 9 am and 4 pm. Can this affect the recording serivce?

Any further thoughts? Particularly on the import function.
