Hiya,

just want to start by thanking the author for this update to the weather plugin.

The thing is having now rebuilt my sytem about 7 times with GBPVR 1.4.7 I get everything working just as I want until I install this plugin. And I have established that it is when I install this plugin that I start to get a very slow response on the server.

I'll drop back to a clean install again and then install the plugin again and zip up the logs. Everyone else seems to have this working brilliantly would love to know why it seems to go wrong for me!

cheers

Steeb

Rolled back to clean working install.

Logs 1 attached are everything before I installed Weather2.

Logs 2 are just after installation but without doing anything in config.exe

Logs 3 are after setting local settings in Weather2 in plugins of config.exe

As again whole system slows down once Weather2 installed. For instance normally config.exe takes max 5 seconds to fire up, once plugin installed takes up to 30. Even if I try to access local folders normally 1 sec, once plugin installed, XP does the searchlight thing and can take 10 seconds

Anyone a clue?

I had previoulsy downloaded the latest wiz .dll's as this plugin does seem to have 1 or 2 that aren't the latest but that made no difference so for purposes of this I didn't bother.

Right pain as this plugin looks brilliant and is a much needed update to the old Weather, just want to get it working right.

Cheers

I'm guessing it has something to do with PVRX2 running when you try entering config. Any MVP or PCH you have running may be the cause.
Try shutting down your MVP/PCH first, then see if you have the same problem.

I need to fix it, but I haven't had much time to work on Weather2 recently.

Thanks for reply scb147,

Will give this a go but I've never had this problem before with other plugins. But yes quite likely I had at least 1 x MVP running at the time.

No worries, you've done so much work on this already, it is a much needed update to the 'old' Weather. I would just love to have this working flawlessly for me.

OK,

finally bit the bullet to install this plugin again. Please find attached a screeshot of the error I get. I think this may have happened before to me but I chose to ignore, could this have something to do with it not working for me? Is it interfering with any other plugins I have installed? This time I made sure no MVP's were running but am sure there were times I tried to install this before when no MVP's were running. As mentioned I have never encountered a problem before if I have an MVP running and have installed a plugin.

I would love to get this working it looks great!

Thanks & Cheers

Further info:

and even though I aborted the installation at the previous screenshot Weather2 now shows as an active plugin in config.exe? No rollback?

Cheers

Shut down any process that may be using the WizDLLs...

PVRX2, Recording Service, Background MVP Instances,... then try the install.

Thanks JavaWiz,

can certainly do this but being a nosey person would like to know why I would have to do this with this plugin and no others!?

Anyway trying now.

Thanks,

all MVP's not connected, GBPVR recording service off etc etc. Now nothing going wrong with the JavaWiz stuff on install but back to where I was at the beginning. It looks like the Plugin has installed OK but whole system has gone into meltdown again.

Arrggghhh Big Grin

But thanks anyway I now know how to get around this install prob, back over to the author I guess.....

Cheers

Think I'll roll back to the old Weather plugin for now, too many bugs for me in this new one but weather2 looks fantastic can't wait for it to work for me. Hope old plugin still works with 1.4.7!
