On the Video Library, I'd like to see the listing update as soon as a file is created in the directory. I have my BitTorrent drop files in this directory, and it's a minor glitch to have to go up and down a directory to see them.

On Video Library I'd like to see a 'loop' button. So I could just stream from GBPVR a big collection of video files to use as background music.

My brain gets ahead of my typing sometimes. I was actually thinking it should interact with running instances of PVRx2.exe when I mentioned clients. So in the case of MVP/PCH, it would be interacting with the server machine.

in timeshift mode, to not delete the temp files so quickly...
right now, if i've paused a show, and the show after it has already past and it's on to the one after that, it deletes the next show in the sequence so only currently recording and currnetly waching shows will be left, and when currently wached show ends, the next in sequence is already deleted! even tho it's still recording the one after that...

so it would be nice if it didn't cleanup during timeshift mode, unless necessary...
[like about to run out of space or something]
and even then to only delete in reverse order..[delete all totally viewed first, then newest recording, then oldest last] to preserve as much of original sequence as possible..so then next one in viewing sequence has lowest delete priority,etc...

i know this is one source of the black screens on timeshift filechange for some..

Two more ideas:
1) The option to set "Resume" as the default button for recordings
2) Change the status of pending recordings that are currently recording to ready, so they become visible in the what's new and ready lists.

I saw the the last one some time ago in the wishlist forum and I believe it's already on sub's to do list, but it cant hurt to mention it again Smile

Ok something I think is simple.

I'd like to be able to make the inputs on my tuner cards selectable from the main menu.

This way I don't have to go to live TV then choose the custom mapped channel for game system / VCR / DVD / cam corder ect.

It isn't a big thing just something to eliminate the need for an external tuner box since i've replaced two dead CRT TV's with Cheap LCD monitors in the bedrooms.

soccerdad Wrote:From the simplicity front, would it be possible to make the video library less "computer like" and not have directory structures that you have to search? We have videos stored on several machines and it would be great to have all videos from all machines listed in one, alphabetical list. You pick what you want to watch and it knows in the background what computer it is on. That way you don't have to hunt around. Perhaps some simple filters could be picked to reduce the list if you have too many vids to scroll through.

Yes, +1 for the video db, add music, etc.

Also it is not something that I need at the moment but can see needing it in the near future... a way to put somethings behind a password. Certain recordings and channels that would be inappropriate for small children and what not... Can't really get the STB to do this as it would blow the recordings. Oh, also maybe the settings... This way it would keep accidental changes to the system to a minimum.
Or nesting the Settings sub menu inside System.

I would hope that this could mean that some more options of config could safely enter the settings menu. (I only use remote so I would like to lessen the amount of VNC to the machine.)

Sheik Yerbouti Wrote:1) The option to set "Resume" as the default button for recordings

Add my vote to this too. as well as:

Snooze Wrote:If a video was watched to the end and it returns to the previous menu (a completely watched video), it would be nice if it did not prompt to ask if you want to resume or restart the next time you selected to watch it, since it completed its previous full viewing session.

I would include dvd's as well.

And Hairy made some comments about gradients... Are we not able to skin things this way? or is this the default blue that is being discussed? And, transitions can get really cheesy really quick but I can see where it might be nice to have the option for a couple of simple ones like a fade or whatever. obviously able to turn off.

There was one other but I can't think of what it was right now so here ya go.

Okay so I have been playing with the video inset and it is nice bit I think it could be better.

First off, I would like to be able to see the video inset by default on the guide, only time I would not use it would be if all tuners were in use. Also I would like some quiick way to change the channel in the inset.

Thanks sub for taking the time to listen to our suggestions.

I second pBS's call for .xml metadata for files in the Video Library to appear on the On Screen Display...

Metadata for recorded shows currently appears on the OSD, but when it comes to Video Library files, only the name of the file appears.

It'd be cool to see the .xml metadata for Vid Library files -- even if it's just the description field -- appear in the OSD.

It's a pretty minor thing, I know. But it WOULD be cool Smile
