You mean you can't do ALL these things in the next release? Big Grin
Maybe a poll to see which ideas would be most popular. Actually, I'm sure that would open a whole other can of worms.

Late to this thread but I'd like to see:
- picture in picture preview
- retention of complete operational control via the remote - I among many many others run a headless PVR
- while playing a video, elapsed running time/remaining running time optionally and dynamically onscreen AND easily available externally (via an updated text file?) to external programs
- more robustness when things go wrong esp .net and skin/plugin errors
- eliminate the need for startpvrx2 (doing myself out of a project here!)
- leave the UI substantially as is - it's just about right; perhaps add a way to place info on the intro screen

That's about it. Well done for all your efforts so far!

PS: One more thing: what about adding the ability to sort recordings by length of video? This will add to the WAF for times when she says things like: 'I don't want to watch anything too long.' Ta!

PPS: Blimey: my 400th post. I should get out more...

A couple of small teaser snippets from the change.log for the developers:
Quote:-Plugins now get lots more events about things happening in the system
-Plugins can now control playback (pause, play, get position/duration, skip etc)
-Plugins can now show themselves above video
-Plugins can now get monitor for keypresses while video is playing (for example, to launch themselves over the video on a certain key combination)

I was about to ask about some way to have the traditional christmas "fireplace" video (or fishtank etc) as background image while still being able to play net/web radio or mp3s... maybe this can be used for the same idea ??

Would looping of the file be possible ? (in addition to restarting the video file, perhaps could be used for jpg image files too, like for a still shot security camera or a web image ?)

I thought of one that is actually UI related:

A common folder for show images so instead of storing a folder.jpg in each of the recorded shows' folders, you can store an image as [Show Name].jpg/png in the common folder. This way the folder can be removed if all recordings have been deleted. The image could also be displayed in the information popup in the TV Guide.

Also, possibly fanart displayed as TV Guide background for the currently selected show. (I say possibly because I don't know if I'm going to like this or not.) Having a common Fanart folder would be nice too now that I think about it though.

Hi Sub.

Mrs Systemshark has offered up a thought....

She would like the ability to bookmark the starting point of show.

Eg. The kids watch chuggington alot. with the 2 minutes padding she has to find the start of the show each time. She's like to be able to bookmark the start, just like the resume feature but once set, it set ...
