Can someone give me basic comparison of the features and lack of feaures of the different Hauppauge WinTV-HVR cards? 1250,1600, 1850, and 2250.

Thanks

best place is Haupp site product pages...Big Grin

1250=software analog + bda digital...pcie
1600=hardware analog + bda digital dual tuner..both usable by gbpvr..Smile pci
1800= same as 1600 but pcie
2250= hardware analog + bda digital, dual 'hybrid' tuners which can be used a+a,d+a, or d+d,[max 2 tuners usable at once,can be either digital or analog] pcie

of course there are sub-categories like 1600 mce kit/1600 retail,etc..mostly diff. just whether comes with remote or not or fm radio...

please someone correct me if i'm wrong..

p.s. weee! 3000 posts...:EEK i need to get a life...lol

Thanks pBS. I knew someone would be able to break it down easier than I could even with the Haupp website available.

pBS gave you a good breakdown of the features as someone that has 2 1600's and a 2250 I suggest the 2250 is the way to go. The tuner for BDA is far superior in the 2250 for clear qam.

That's is important for those that get QAM. I would have thought the 1600 would be good enough. Thanks for the info. I'm planning on updating the Wiki, when I can, with info you guys give me.

1600's are good, it's just that they put many different tuners in them and somedidn't work for qam very well, while others did great..
[there are numbers on the tuner, but ya don't know which one you'll get sometimes..]
when i got mine the tuner number was on the box's front and was correct..tho this is not always the case..so hit and miss..

oh and all of those tuners come with built-in haupp. ir remotes, unless you get MCE version..

Do the Hauppauge remotes work with WinXp, Vista, and Win7 but the MCE remotes only work with Vista and Win7 as far as what is currently available?
