I've been using GBPVR for a long time, but a new problem has cropped up, and I haven't got a clue. I hope someone has seen this before...

Occasionally, a recorded show will be listed in "What's New" with a recorded time of, for example, 7:00 AM to 6:59 AM. The recording is not on on the hard drive.

This morning, a show was supposed to record from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM, but the GBPVR icon in the tray never turned green. I tried to watch the show as it was recording, but clicking on Live TV would do nothing. I let the the recording end normally. After the recording supposedly completed, GBPVR listed it in "What's New" one time, then it disappeared. The show was not on the hard drive.

I've reinstalled GBPVR a couple of times, and have even clean reinstalled Windows 7 a couple of times...

I've had this and I'm fairly sure it's related to when the tuner fails to tune the channel for the recording. If you have all the logs from the time of the attempted record zip them up and post. Can you normally record OK from that particular channel? Can you watch it in LiveTV? (note just cause you can do one, doesn't necessarily mean you can do the other!!)

Thanks for helping...

I can indeed record from, and watch shows on the channel in question. I'm almost certain the problem has occurred on other channels. The show in question is set up to record daily, and recorded yesterday without a problem.

I've attached the logs - I think...

I recently created a text file for MC2XML to eliminate the listing of duplicate channels. Could that somehow be related? The channel in question is on the list as a channel I want. And that channel is listed, and does work.

Thank you,

Michael

I've had recordings saying they end before the start time. In each case it has been the recoding device not responding. I have to reboot my machine about every two weeks to keep the pseudo USB nova-t-500 in a working condition.

It's been working for months up until now, though. I hope the card isn't going out. I'll keep experimenting, but it might take a long time to figure this out, because it happens just every few days, and it seems to be random as to time, channel, etc.

Did you not even get a zero byte file in the recording directory?

What was the name of a recording on that channel so I know where to look in the logs?

Different to mine then as I do get a 0 (or tiny?) file created.

Also, check if there is a file in the directory while the recording is in-progress (and gets removed later).
