It was an episode of "American Justice" that should have recorded from 7 to 8 AM this morning, on channel 45, which is A&E.

At the time it went to record, it was unable to find the driver components in the machine. Maybe the driver had crashed?

Hi, I'm getting the same problem, but can't find any errors in the logs. I have two tuners in the system, a Hauppauge 350, and an HVR-1600. The 350 seems to record OK, but I can't get the 1600 to record at all. It creates the folder, and sometimes creates a 0 byte file for the recording, but not always.

However, I can watch live TV from both the analog and digital tuners on the 1600 just fine, so I know it's there and working. The only error that I can occasionaly find in the logs is something to do with the recording file not being found and the lease expiring. This started about two weeks ago, following the installation of a new version of WinTV. I did so in an effort to try and map all of my QAM channels so that I could use them with GBPVR.

I have upgraded to 1.4.7, I have removed and re-added my tuners, all to no avail. Any help or guidance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I'm attaching the logs that appear to have been updated. Please let me know if you need anything else.

If it creates a file, then I'm sure its not the same problem as mentioned in this thread.

If you've got a example of a recording that created no file, let me know the name of the show and the time, and I'll take a look in your logs.

It doesn't create a file. I saw one a few times at the beginning, but nothing lately. I've already attached the logs. The one to look for is the Tournament of Roses parade from this morning at around 11:50.

Thanks,
Kevin

I checked the logs, and unfortunately it doesnt not contain this recording. Reproduce the problem, and repost the logs and I'll take a look.

Here's the new logs. Same recording, Tournament of Roses Parade at 8:35PM. In looking at the logs, this time it failed at connecting to the device. This is the first time that I've seen that error, but the result is the same, no file is created. However, live TV still works. Go figure.

Thanks for looking into this.
Kevin

P.S. The recording was in the earlier logs, just search for Roses and you should find it easily. You'll also notice that the failure is different than this current attempt. I've checked the logs at least a dozen times, and this is the first failure I've seen connecting to the device.

Set <BDARecordOutOfProcess>false</BDARecordOutOfProcess> in config.xml, then try again to reproduce it. If the problem is still present, then repost the logs.

OK, we're making progress. After making the change and restarting the recording service, the new recording that I attempted worked. However, I had noticed that before I restarted the recording service Numb3rs was supposed to be already recording on the other card (PVR-350). The file was there, but was 0 bytes. So, I went ahead and restarted the service. Numb3rs started recording again after the restart, but the new file remained at 0 bytes. The KTLA news program that I set to record after the restart worked fine however. I'm not sure what that means. You'll find the Numb3rs recording right at the beginning of the log, and the news recording about 3 minutes later at 10:28PM.

Here are the logs just in case they point to something else.

Thanks,
Kevin

P.S. After playing the "good" recording, I noticed that the sound died about a minute into the recording. Not sure what that means yet either.

For other reasons, I've done a clean install of Windows 7 a couple of times, and set GBPVR back up from scratch. The problem has occurred after both clean installs.

I am using the driver that Windows 7 automatically installs, because the latest driver from the Hauppauge website has problems - about one time in three, all you get is a blank, gray screen, both on live TV, and on recordings.

Maybe I need to try an older driver? The card is an HVR1800, by the way. This is going to be difficult to fix...

I recently added a text file so MC2XML would only download certain channels. I'm going to remove that to see if it might be somehow related to the problem... Are we having fun yet?
