I've looked around the forum, but can't find an answer to my question.

Can GB-PVR stream live tv to another pc, and can you control the tuner on the remote pc?

I'm looking for features similar to SageTV's client/server setup. I've got a pc with a Hauppage USB 950 tuner that I would like to be able to control from a cabin that is connected back to the main house via wireless. Can GB-PVR do this?

Thanks,

Yes, it can do this. Its not the most reliable feature though, and it needs a bit of rework when I can find the time.

It works fine in my setup, I can stream HD without stuttering on a 100Mb wired network. But I had to set the Live-preview delay to 1500 mS.

I stream live TV over my wireless G connection on my laptop but I have to use filesharing instead of streaming and TS mux instead of DVRMS. Any other combination causes sever stuttering.

Could anyone, who has it operational, explain me briefly, how to set up the live TV streaming? I want to use this feature over the Internet.

Many thanks!

Unless you have a super fast internet connection, it won't work over the network. You would need an upload speed of about 15-20Mbps for HD or 2-3Mbps for SD. If you want to watch over the internet, you should use the EWA web interface.

I forgot to mention, that I started the reading with that page. Of course, I installed VLC, but so far it is not clear, how to set it up.

How to configure to use the GB-PVR output as input for the VLC, how to resample the stream in the VLC to fit it to the available bandwidth, how to controll the channels remotely (preferably from the application used to play the streaming), etc.

The WIKI entry for EWA doesn't provide any step-by-step instructions, at least not for me, who is a beginner with GB-PVR and VLC.

Thanks for kind help.
