Once you are in the EWA in your web browser, all of those things are taken care of behind the scenes.
If you go to the manage recordings screenm you can click on a recording and then click stream. This will ask what format etc.
You can control the channels remotely by clicking on the tv guide in EWA and clicking a program then you can record or stream live.
The stream playback can be done in either VLC or WMP (you set this as part of the transcode options)
