Big MPG files

I'm trying to burn a DVD from an MPG that is originally 6.6 GB. After the commercials are cut out the file will be much smaller, and should be under 4.7 GB. Even when I have "Shrink is OFF" set, the file is still shrunk - I'm assuming because of the original file size. Is an MPG file produced from Skip Tool that has the commercials taken out that I could manually create the DVD or ISO from, or is there some other way I can do this without losing content? The thing I'm finding is that the shrunken version has lost some content from the video. This isn't the first time this has happened. I've seen this on other large files too.

Are the commercials cut out or just skipped?

If they are cut out and the file is still too big, a trick I learnt was to create the full DVD to hard drive....then use something like DVD shrink to get it to below 4.7gb.

The commercials were marked with comskip during recording. I use Skip Tool in BurnDVDX2 to cut them out so I can check and adjust what was marked by comskip.

So you are saying it uses shrink whether it is on or not?

I can only assume so because the content is compressed to the point that some of it is missing. Good question though. I haven't watched to see if DVDShrink opens. I only know that the resulting ISO or DVD is missing content.

I don't think that shrink will run if it is not enabled. In addition, DVDshrink should not lose any scenes, it would lower the bitrate to make it fit on a standard DVD. Is that what you mean by missing content?

One problem does seem to be there is that the total size does not subtract off any of the commercial cuts sizes so the decision to use dvdshrink if it were enabled could be unnecessary. I don't think this is your problem but it is worth noting.

Yeah, it actually loses content. The best example I had was when I tried to put a football game on a dvd. The DVD started the game in the 2nd quarter. The DVD I was trying to do the other night was a 2 hour movie from TV. The DVD should have begun with the opening credits, but instead it started well into the movie.

That's not an issue with DVDshrink. It could be a problem with the cuts, or timestamps, or something else.
Can you post the builddvd.cmd file from the temp/burndvd directory?

Yep, here you go. This cmd file is from when I tried to make an ISO. "Com Trim" is ON and "Shrink" is off. Thanks in advance for looking at this.

Is there a way to use SkipTool (or some other tool) to clip the commercials after I've reviewed them and made sure the marking was accurate?

Edit: Keep in mind by making sure the marking was accurate I also mean being able to change the marking like you can do in SkipTool.
