I've slid back down the slippery slope, all the way to square one. Thanks to help from the forum, yesterday I turned off the Windows 7 firewall and was able to record something for the first time. But I soon realized GB-PVR was only accessing one tuner from my SD-HDHR. But both tuners were working fine through the SD software, and rescan there found lots of channels. So I tried to remap the channels to the offending tuner in config, but the scan came up empty. So I removed the tuner from the capture source list, added it back, resulting in the same 0 channels detected. So I uninstalled the GB-PVR program, rebooted and started from scratch.

Now GB-PVR fails to detect channels on either tuner. I'd really like to use this program, along with the two popcornHour a100s I got, so I hope you can help me. I'm using version 1.4.7, with microsoft epg through mc2xml. OS is Windows 7, firewall is turned off for both public and private, and there is no other firewall installed. There is AVG anti-virus & anti-spyware installed. The HDHR is set to GB-PVR as the application. My log is attached.

It was failing to start the device, so it never actually did the scan (even though it went through the motions). I'm guessing it was in use in some other process.

I don't think so, but I'm not an expert at interpreting processes in task manager. So I've attached screenshots of these, if you'll be so kind as to take a look at them.

I rebooted the computer, checked that the firewall was off, then took the screenshots of processes, applications, and running services. Before doing so I closed the GB-PVR tray, and ran the shortcut to stop the GB-PVR recording service. I noticed that the GB-PVR Recording service still showed as "Running" in task manager. So I tried to stop it again, without effect. The GB-PVR programs are the only ones I know of that could be using the tuners. I haven't installed any other recording software. The built in Windows 7 could be interferring I guess, even though I've never used it. If so, hopefully you'll see evidence in the screenshots.

After taking the screenshots, I again tried to map the channels through config. Same 0 channels found on scan, and the same problematic log entries you pointed out in your last post.

After this I started the SD-HDHR setup program and verified that both tuners are working properly.

Thanks for looking into this.

Sorry, I'm also not an expert in the names of other processes that might be using it. Either way, the device didnt start in that log, so no data was ever delivered to GB-PVR.

Solved! The bda.ini file had the wrong information for the HDHR card. By running the HDHR setup, choosing the already chosen GB-PVR for application, then APPLYING IT, the bda.ini file was updated with the correct information. By uninstalling GB-PVR, I lost the correct file which I had made originally.
