I've sent a new beta version of GBPVR to the beta group designed to let user remap some of the remote keys which I think will really help EGreat M34a users get full functionality. There is one area that could help PCH users too and that is the Page Up/Down function.

Currently the Page Up/Down control the volume but I am thinking that many people (like me) might not use the NMT remote to control volume and it would be better to have Page Up/Down act like Channel Up/Down. By doing this you not only can navigate LiveTV but page the libraries and EPG uniformly. Let me know what you think is the best default. You actually will be able to add both keys too, but they won't be as logically arranged as the Page Up/Down

BTW, Hauppauge remote users with the full remote will get both too, I have enabled channel up/down separately from volume up/down.

I would have to think about this a little before voting.
As we use Hauppauge remotes and used to its functions, we would be a "don't care" choice. I'm not sure if i would sacrifice a volume control on the NMT remote though. We use it rarely and only to balance NMT and real TV audio levels - rarely using Live TV via GBPVR.

I was going to add a don't care, but I wanted people to think since it is an important default. The ChannelUp/Down do work outside LiveTV (they act like Prev Next screens in the Libraries and in the EPG).

Volume Up/Down can still exist on other keys.

Having 'thunk' and as the keys will be tweakable anyway, then I went for channel up/down as a more useful default.

I'm also for channel up/down. I use my stereo remote to handle volume as I go thru my surround system and keep the volume on the tv down.

i like the proposed changes...i like consistency..Smile
i also use haupp remote...

btw, i seem to have been left off the beta group...sorry i hadn't commented much on previous releases, but the issues weren't applicable to me..[i don't use nmt much for audio if ever]
[plus iwas having problems with a hard drv installed in mine, had to take it out for reliability]

Sorry pBS, you never replied so any of the emails so I assumed you weren't interested. I don't post these beta strictly for people to test for the new features either, I want to make sure there are no regressions. I will send you the update it explains the current mapping.

I'm currently reconstructing my PVR setup, including finally getting my recently bought refurb A-100 properly integrated into GBPVR.

The "page the libraries and EPG uniformly" is definitely preferable to the volume control, as I as most others are using the AV-Reciever for volume. So I vote for remapping.

That being said, I use the Logithech 885, so I'm likely to get by anyway...

Off topic: is it possible to change PCH own remote control settings? The only thing I do not like is that the exit button does not stop playback, I have to use the stop button.
