Looking for Serial Port IR receiver

The Wiki page here states that the LIRC homepage has a list of persons who will build a receiver if you don't want to build it ourselves. Can't find the list.

Does anyone know where I can find a basic general Serial Port IR receiver to purchase?

you can build one yourself, or buy one premade from people on lirc homepage...
or just go searching the web...

but since mce remote+dongle can be found for around 25$ you may just be better off getting one of those...[usb, plus it has blasters]

The USBUIRT is a very good alternative, USBUIRT+HIP can use ANY remote you may have laying around (I have a pile of old remotes, and most do).
