Lots of 0 length recordings with new HVR-930C tuners

It's the file (ie. the artifacts I am seeing are actually recorded into the file):-(

It looks exactly like bad digital reception which is also what I'm seeing from the quality value in "Map digital channels to epg channels" ....

Yes, its sounding like bad reception.

It's just really odd when I was getting perfect signal with the Hauppauge drivers ... I guess you don't play around with any signal levels or anything?

No, I dont have any control over signal levels or anything like that. I just tell it to tune to a specific frequency, and device and its drivers takes care of the rest.

The Hauppauge drivers vs the TerraTec drivers maybe initialising the tuner hardware with different characteristics causing this though. (like maybe they have slightly different hardware, and these values better suit the attenuation of the TerraTec hardware etc)

I need to get some other tuners then and see if I can get rid of these somehow. Product availability is pretty limited here though:

Terratec H5 USB
TerraTec Cinergy HTC USB XS
Terratec Cinergy C PCI
Technotrend CT-3650 USB
Technotrend C-1501 PCI

Is there any product you would recommend over the other here? I would really like to go for one of the Terratec USB devices .. Do you know whether they're working well? Or am I better of getting a pci solution?

The only one of those I've ever used is the TechnoTrend C-1501, so I cant really give you any comparative recommendations.
