Hi there,

Was wondering if the rmvb format is not supported?
When I goto my Videos I can see my other files with eg. avi and mpg extensions but rmvb files do not appear.
I can play avi mpg and mp4 files without any problem.

Any help is appreciated thanks !

There is a valid file extension mask built into EWA....this extension is not on the list.

Load the attached patch....you will need to stop the gbpvrrecordingservice first, copy this file over to your EWA install and restart the service.....

Copied the file over as you suggested but unable to test if it works so far
as I cannot get into Web Admin anymore last night.
For some strange reason I cannot get in via home LAN http://192.168.0.X:7647/gbpvr anymore.
Maybe has something to do with some stuff I did earlier. Was trying to
access Web Admin remotely and hence I opened up port 7647 in Win7 firewall.

Needless to say, was unsuccessful at that as well using either dyndns or
doing http://myipaddress:7647/gbpvr from remote PC at another location
Will try to undo the port opening and see how I fare tonight

regards,

PS. I see in an (older) earlier post you mentioned to someone port 7648 needs to be opened as well?
Is that necessary for remote Web Admin access from another PC at a different location?
Or correct me if I am wrong, port 7648 is used only for vlc streaming via EWA?
Sorry I cannot seem to locate that old post now ...

Sorry I cannot seem to locate that old post now ...

port 7647 is for the web admin (default)
port 7648 is the default for streaming video.....this can be changed in the Config tab of EWA

These ports must be open on the host machine.

Restart the gbpvrrecordingservice service.....if you did not stop it before you dropped in the patch it will get "stuck".....so it is best to restart the recording service and see if you can then get in.

I stoppped the service, copied over the patch and restarted the service, twice; and rebooted to make sure.
Right now I am still unable to do http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/
I must have broken something ...

Will keep trying and reinstall EWA as a last resort
Wish me luck !

Good luck! Big Grin

Shouldn't be that difficult....should just need to unzip to the directory that is in the Zip file.....if you unzipped it without overlaying the original file then you would be having issues......that is the only thing I can think of.

I reinstalled EWA and followed the Wiki with regards to the deletion of certain files while keeping the rest.
Stil no joy tough .. still unable to access http:localhost:7647/gbpvr/
The browser just hangs there waiting for localhost page to load

Would there be any issues if I did a complete deletion of all files in the existing 'web' folder and replace them with the newly unzipped folder's contents seeing my present setup appears to be broken in any case ?
Will there be anything I would lose in terms of PVRX2 functionality?

regards,

Yea....for the patch I posted you didn't need to delete anything....just extract the one file overtop the one that existed.

Here is a link to a full Beta EWA release....follow the instructions on the wiki and then load the attached archive rather than the file that is on the wiki.

I followed everything on the wiki
reinstalled the beta EWA and it works again as previously i.e.
http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/Guide.aspx works
Going into Video Library however, I still cannot see my rmvb files.

I copied the patch you gave earlier to replace the Settings.cs file in web folder,
stopping and restarting the service as advised.
Suddenly http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/Guide.aspx did not work again.

So on a hunch I went into gbpvr config to uncheck Enabled GB-PVR web server ... got out,
then went in again to check the box and out again.
Now http://localhost:7647/gbpvr.Guide.aspx works again !
Again I cannot see the rmvb extension files ...

Actually I just found out when in the Video Library,
I cannot see all other files anymore, be it .mpg, .avi, .mp4 etc !
All I can see are my folders eg. Movies, but when I clicked on them, they are empty ... oops

I went into the Music Library and just as I feared,
all my mp3s cannot be displayed as well i.e. it shows a blank folder

Did I break something again?
