Thanks for letting me blab. I was getting rather frustrated, but it was a lot of little things that were keeping it from working. I also just noticed that instead of the codec for h.264 being picked directly. The system default was being used. I'm recording 15 minutes of video right now. And hope that I'll be able to play it back in PVRX2 with the correct codec specified in the playback options. I'm crossing my fingers. And I must say USB-UIRT is really working well! From what I understand you can use multiples of them unlike the blaster that comes with the HDPVR. That way you can control more than one box of the same type I'm thinking. Like two Cable boxes of the same type or something like that. You'd never be able to do that with only one unit because both boxes would respond to channel change commands being sent to the other box. I'm hoping the commands between the two boxes I have are not the same, and I'll be able to do it all with one blaster with two outputs. Switched CoreAVC codec, and can now watch my recordings and live TV from the HD-PVR. But a little choppy. I think a little work on the filter setup and I'll get it. My video card is onboard, so might not be up to the task. It is playing back recorded files in WMPclassic ok though. So I think I've got a good chance. I was so surprised to get video on the livetv, but didn't seem to have the audio. I'll work on it. But things are looking good.
GB-PVR 1.4.7, SilconDust HDhomerun Dual Tuner, AMD Phenom 2.6ghz? on Gigabit motherboard with HDMI output, on a 50" Plasma. HD-PVR1212 as my third tuner. And lastly PVR-500 added 4/1/10 as my fourth, and fifth tuners.

if you want audio from the hdpvr in live tv mode you have to open the config.xml ile using notepad and find the live tv section and add this line

<PreferredHDPVRAudioFormat>AC3</PreferredHDPVRAudioFormat>

then you can use ffdshow or ac3filter etc... as your sound codec and you should be good to go. different configs will drift the audio so you will have to work with that. If your video card is not up to the task then you can buy one with hardware decoding then most of the audio drifts will stop.

A tip for those with blaster problems after recording the codes. Open each file into a hex editor and delete all the FF FF FF that can plague the file.

Usually you can figure out the start of the codes are good and then boom you see FF FF FF FF FF and maybe more code after that... you can delete all that . I seem to have to do this whenever I buy a new box and need to make my own codes with the remote. Takes about 10 minutes with all the number keypad files. heh

Good luck and glad you got it going

Thanks for the tips! I didn't end up having FF's throughout my UIRT blaster file....but I buttons with too few keystrokes (codes). I ended up trying to learn the remote three different times, then took the three files and choose what looked like the best recording for each buttons pressed, and made a new file out of that. Working perfectly! So the idea of messin' with the recorded codes file was a winner.
Got the audio working with your tip too! Thanks. I think I am going to try the stand alone filter (SAF) I've been reading about here.
