Installing PCTV Dual Sat pro PCI (4000i) card

Hi Martin,

Thank you very much for your time and effort trying to sort this issue for me.

As requested I have attached filtercheck.log.
Also I have attached my bda.ini file as found on my machine

As you noted this is coming up in Device Manager as a PCTV DVB-S device.

That still looks like the device driver is wrong (well maybe not wrong, but different to the one that works for me!).
can you try the attached one?

Once the driver name matches the one in BDA.INI you should be able to select it OK with config and move on to the next step, hopefully without any more trouble.

Hi Martin,

Thank you very much for you help in this case. I have now got this card to work and everything looks OK now.

I have amended the bda.ini file with the lines below:

PCTV DVB-S
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-S
FILTER_TUNER="PCTV Stargate Tuner"
FILTER_CAPTURE="PCTV Stargate Capture"
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=input0
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=output1

The two inputs for this card are showing up as device 1 and 2 when 'Only show devices detected in this machine" tickbox is used.

I have successfully amended the SCAN-1.cache files produced...as you say the card's own scanning does not work correctly.

Everything seems OK now

Excellent, glad to have helped - Just a shame your first experience of gbpvr was so troublesome. I guess I was luck in that when I got the 4000i and had a problem, I had been using the software for some time and knew my way around it a bit. As I think I said, with PVR's there are so many different things that have to work at the same time, debugging can be frstrating.

Anyway, I suspect a new version is due shortly and fingers crossed that scanning the more non-mainline tuners scan better.
