hmm,i don't see a Remote=SHORT_NAME there...it's needed to address multiple remotes in this version..[channel and remote are the only required params]

I added the Remote parameter with no luck. From firefox the address after blasting is...
"http://127.0.0.1:8086/index.htm?Item=%232%3AINSIGNIA&Action=IRSend"

so "net2hipsend 123 port=8086 remote=INSIGNIA" doesn't work?
it has to be the SHORT_NAME equivalent in hip dialog..

Nope, that doesn't work and I verified I'm using the correct remote name.

otherwise i'd try uninstalling the antivirus..simply turning it off doesn't remove their influence completely..

i tried with your params and it worked for me here..

I tried...
net2hipsend 41 server=127.0.0.1 port=8086 remote=INSIGNIA
and
net2hipsend 41 port=8086 remote=INSIGNIA

and both received several "no reply from server" errors. Seems it may be blocked. I'll try uninstalling the antivirus and see if that's it.

probably have to tell antivirus to let net2hipsend.exe access to internet also...[even tho it doesn't access outside]

I completely uninstalled my anitvirus and have verified windows firewall is off and I still get "no reply from server". Other than the antivirus I didn't install anything new. I know I had to have broken it but I just can't find where.

but since it works from browser, look in browser to see if there are any proxies set..that could be why..
is it vista/win7?
it sounds like it's serving and some programs can access it, just not mine..
i use autoit3, which uses standard win api calls so i doubt it's anything in the api, more likely a rights issue..
