Hi all,

The problem: When I try to start PVRX2 I get the message "System doesn't support VMR9 Video Render". I checked your FAQ to no avail and googled for VMR 9 without a useful result.

Windows XP Pro SP3
GB-PVR 1.4.7 (with vcredist_x86.exe)
GeForce 8400 GS
Direct X: I installed 9.0c but see in a technical survey version no. 4.10.0.5515

The only issue is that I use this PC by RDP, limiting the colour depth to 16 bits.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards,
Fokke Nauta

Updated video drivers already. No difference.
GBPVR with RDP should work, see http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...te-Desktop

Check which video renderer is selected in the playback tab of config.exe
try "Overlay" instead of VMR or VMR fullscreen
if the video renderer is set to EVR and EVR is not installed, you will get the System doesn't support VMR9 Video Render message too (install dot net 3 or 3.5)

That thread referred to the old GBPVR.exe UI, which was usable over Remote Desktop. The current PVRX2.exe uses Direct3D and VMR9, which arent available over Remote Desktop unless the server is Vista or Win7.

OK, this explains everything. Thanks.
Is there any way to install the old GBPVR?

You can use PVRX2 & VMR9 with TightVNC (and presumably other VNC solutions, but I will only vouch for TightVNC). Just make sure you do not install the mirror display driver, use polled mode instead.
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct
main client: NextPVR 5.0.7 Desktop Client; LG 50UH5500 WebOS 3.0 TV

Or you could just install GBPVR on the other PC you are trying to remote from and use it as a client. Nicer interface, no mouse lag etc.

Do I understand that GBPVR can run in a client-server mode? Server on the remote PC with the Hauppauge PVR350 and the client on my workstation-PC?
That sounds great. I'll give it a try.
