Ah-ha... I've got it working !

Problem was I had used the GBPvr guest userid and password in myGBPvr settings and I needed to use the admin/password. :o

Discovered this when I used the EWA Webservice test app from the bottom of page;
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Enhan...ebServices
and got the same "padding" error when I tried to use the guest/password

i already generate my own thumbs so that's ok..
is there a way to specify a different thumb than one named same as file, in .nfo?
No, not in the "nfo" file. It just contains meta-data. Filename is the only thing it will pick up on...

pBS Wrote:basically i just want the gb info to show up in library mode...i see thumbs but no info unless click on 'episode info'
or does it work that way? [i thought that's what the .nfo did]
It depends on the skin and the layout of your skin if it will show automatically or if you have to press the "episode info" button. The button will allways give you the info, the skin has the option to display or disregard the episode information...
I use the "PM3HD" skin and have it set to: "Fanart View". It then gives you some info (I have included some screenshots)...

pBS Wrote:or just thumbs in mygbpvr interface..what's supposed to be in bottom of details box? i wonder if that needs the star removed to find the thumg?
Not sure what you mean?

There's a bunch more fields there, they just get hidden when it's a finished recording... Press on a program in the EPG, and you will see a lot more fields... There is room for a small thumb in the top-left (to the left of the show name and the genre information), which will be matched if there's a file with the same name in your ..../myGBPVR/fanart/shows directory, it will show that picture...
In this case, the file name would have to be "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon *.jpg"... There's also a place for genre-icons and channel-icons there... I'm posting a sample here... (with a Mythbusters recording)..

mmm XBMC is using mplayer for playing video's... It has full support for VDPAU (I have an ION nettop myself, and it runs like a charm). I have even tested my ION running very high bit-rate content (bird-scene) on H.264 and it just throws it out there....

I haven't seen any de-interlacing issues myself (could be because I'm in PAL-country), but I'm sure if you head over to the XBMC forums, there's a bunch of stuff there...

that's what i'm afraid of, tons of threads all discussing options, most of them ion/nvidia related....
vdpau helps nvidia chipsets but nothing for anyone else really..
and that works in windows? [vdpau in windows?]
if there's hooks for having an alternate player i'd really be interested..
[like vlc or mpchc]
guess i'll check the svn's...

There's hooks for external players (I've been looking into that since VLC will allow me to watch in-progress recordings). There's a nice way to configure them as well... I thought (but since I'm using an Ubuntu setup am not sure) that they had VDPAU working for Windows as well....

I'll post on Ton's behalf.....he has the NPVR supported version about ready to go.....but he just had a compound system meltdown that is going to take him some time to get back up and running.
