Thanks! But honestly, it was true. I've inadvertantly (spelling?) turned my wife in to a picture quality snob! It started when I got her noticing the differences between video and film on screen and went "downhill" from there
The AIW's ouptut is so inferior that my wife would rather do without the OSD to get the better quality.

Money. I own W2K, not XP. Too expensive to upgrade and I don't see much benefit.
tipstir Wrote:Anyway you can beef up the CPU to XP1800 was a good popular chip, even 2400 was even better rated at 2GHz. But if you have to make due, that try to install XP.
Do you have Media MVP? I didn't see it in your sign tag below?
You say Weather and Theater plug-in not working, have you updated them lately?
I've fix the skin part in my XMEDIA Skin Theme if you download and install the plug-in side you should see it working unless you have some other issues going on.
What codecs are you using for video and audio playback?
My OS and hardware seem ok, so cost comes in to play again. Before updating any other hardware I'd like to find a permanent video card as good as the G550, but WITH OSD, wireless mouse/keyboard, universal remote, and a larger hard drive (I'm concerned my BIOS won't do more than 137Gb). I thought I'd want a second tuner, but that doesn't really seem necessary now.
No MVP. Not sure if I want to mess with that. I HAVE considered getting an RF modulator (about $45) to make the PVR a channel on our analog cable.
Theater is updated and OK. Sorry! Forgot to update the sig! I haven't tried any other skins. When I'm free to make changes is when the family wants to be watching the PVR!
I tried to get Dscaler5 working, but I can't get it to show up in GB-PVR's list of available decoders. I added it to the xml, but it still doesnt' appear after installing Dscaler5. So I'm using Hauppauge's decoder and XviD.

Just wondering if anyone has come up with anything new? I might start my own thread soon.
thanks.
