i second that..only thing stopping me from using evr also..
tons of broadcast tv here has video with black bars added to the video..so we can't get rid of it unless we can zoom it off screen..
and most analog suffers from this as well...16:9 video broadcast over analog will always get black bars, and when viewing on 16:9 tv[most users] they could be zoomed off screen for full screen picture...but as it is, we get 4 sides of black..[2 sides are in video, 2 sides to keep 16:9 tv aspect]
not possible without the zoom past edges of evr..Sad
shame to lose the nicer color and post-processing of evr..

I'm trying the new NPVR on my dev machine, so no tuners installed. I'm just going through the media directories and testing that stuff out. So far it looks very promising. One thing I did notice though, is that the list seems to be sorted by modified date for all items in the media folders. Is there a way to change the sort order?
Once again, looks good!

sub Wrote:I'm not sure I understand the question.

It has built in logic to automatically skip ads during playback if comskip .edl files are present.

It doesnt have logic to run comskip.exe for you each time it makes a recording, but you can easily add this yourself by creating either a PostProcessing.bat or ParallelProcessing.bat that runs comskip. You can put the comskip.exe and ini files wherever you like, but your batch file that runs them will need to know where they are.

Ok (sorry must be a bit slow) I gotcha now, basically nothing's changed it's just that you have to do the batches yourself?
(and copy a set of comskip.exe + ini to where the n
bat file runs them from (easiest is move installl dir) Whereas before config did it for you.

Sorry - this appears due to "something" installed in the last day or two that has stopped the driver working.
Removing and reinstalling the device driver didn't fix it. Restoring the system to a Saturday image has brought it back to life and it scans, although with crashes as per the other thread.
I don't which piece of software killed the driver, but one that I haven't installed since the restore is wintv7.

Nothing yet. I believe sub has this in there for possible future use. Kind of like a hidden Easter egg.Big Grin

Sorry if this is a silly Q but with GBPVR everything went in Program Files/devnz/gbpvr. NPVR now has Program Files/NPVR and a Public/Users/NPVR. Can I assume ParallelProcessing.bat goes in the former, and that I can just copy the one from GBPVR across? And that it (or ParallelProcessing.bat) will work automatically?

I had thought it would look in the 'c:\program files\npvr' directory, but I just checked and its looking for it in the data directory (\public\users\npvr on Vista/Win7).

It depends whats in your ParallelProcessing.bat. GB-PVR didnt have one of these files, so whatever you've got in it is stuff you've added yourself (or some thing you've downloaded has created it).

It provides the same parameters to the batch file as GB-PVR did, so it'll probably work. You may need to look at paths etc though.

OK good to know! One of my ImageGrabbers (ProgramImageTool) uses CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll so I am going to attempt copying that across too.

Actually I checked and don't have one either! I must have assumed such an animal existed if comskip could be parallel processed. How would you achieve that now then btw?
