Cant watch anything though - it bails out without creating a crash dump file, just the usual windows moaning that it's died. Logs attached.
Ok, great - progress at least.

Can you try again to see if you get a crash.mdmp? This is the easiest way for me to find the cause.

I've just spent the best part of an hour trying to get it to create a crash dump but it would not... I've left the dll patch as the new one and tried every version of the other patch to try and get it to dump but it just bails out with "npvr.exe has encountered a problem" or whatever the message is and no dump. However with the original NPVRTSMon.ax it does actually play live TV. The sound is intermittent on the DVB-T channels, seems ok on the DVB-S channels except it hasn't chosen the AC3 channel for BBC HD. I've not tried the old .dll file though, should I? With all the other NPVRTSMon.ax versions, it was creating a few mb worth of buffer .ts file so it was doing something before bailing.

Didn't appear to make any difference (it still played as previous). The sound is fine on everything except no AC3 on BBC HD (should I do a rescan?) and RTE 1 on DVB-T is broken up (but fine via GBPVR and the same ffdshow filters etc).

It was attempting to fix the crash you were getting when attempting to watch live tv with recent versions of NPVRTSMon.ax.

In which case it's an improvement on the various other patches as it does play Smile It and the original version play live TV. The RTE sound is worse when switching from an DVB-S channel to DVB-T, if I press up then select the same channel again the sound gets loads better (not perfect though).

If you can supply a short sample recording that shows audio problems, I'll take a look.

OK, after a small bit of playing around it seems the BBC HD channel has 2 audio streams and nPVR is picking what I guess is the first, but unfortunately useless narrative audio stream. The AC3 channel is also there and can be selected with the mouse, but that's not WAF friendly or usable... It plays it find when you do select it though.

As for RTE, there's a sample here. I see that also has two audio channels... Maybe it's one of those that plays better than the other.

This seems to play nicely for me, and give both audio and video. (didnt have to choose second audio stream)

Just to say that with the patches above, I have managed to get a good scan on my Pinnacle dual dvb-s tuner.
Plays live TV including BBC HD and ITV HD fine.
I still get the exception when OK'ing out of the device setup, but this doesn't seem to stop things.
I haven't given the digital side a hammering and have a slight feeling there may be a slight oddity with some encrypted/clear channels - but I have no evidence yet and will have to do

Minor niggle though
Ah, found one - all three channels transmitted encrypted (well need a sky subscription to see them and dvbdream shows them as encrypted) but the 3rd is shown as clear?
