What's your BBC HD playback like? Does it pick the mpeg narrative audio channel or the AC3 one? Also since the change to VBR can you play it back ok? I've got decoder problems ever since the VBR change (as detailed in the SAF wishlist thread) - I can play generated .ts files in media player fine but not in GBPVR/NPVR....

The RTE file also plays back fine in NPVR via the video files option. It only seems to cause problems when it's live TV - which I appreciate in timeshift mode shouldn't make any difference.

I was very impressed with the new channel mappings. I could name them what I like after the scan and assign whatever XMLTV channel to it. So I could have a channel which scanned as numbers, rename to "ITV HD" and assign the XMLTV channel "ITV London" to it Smile One thing though now that I cant add channels manually to the scan.cache file, how do I add TPs I want to include in the scan to the Freesat section? There are several reasonable FTA channels missing and the odd Sky TP that transmits clear channels (e.g. STV HD and some of the ITV HD regions).

If you can make available a minute GB-PVR full ts recording (about 200MB), I'll be able to play it live here to try reproducing the RTE problem.

I can do the same for BBC HD, but if you can reproduce the problem when playing a regular recording of this channel, then post the recording and I'll take a look.

Great - glad you like it. The new definitely easier for new users, instead of the old scheme where they had to worry about getting EPG files etc before even try viewing tv.

You can edit the freesat file in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-S to add other transponders.

It sounded like the normal audio channel on BBC HD but switching with the right mouse key to the other stream doesn't produce narrative - so it may not be being broadcast at the moment.
It plays OK as liveTV or as a recording by the looks of it.... just off to RTE....damn, have to re-scan, I was doing some tidying up.
I haven't had chance to play with mappings and xmltv yet, something to look forward to.

I would guess that you could either edit C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-S\0280 FREESAT ONLY (28.2E).ini to add a transponder or create your own new one with a single new transponder in it??

All in all a promising beginning after a few worrying moments Smile

Yep, either of those.

Things are going ok. Issues so far have just been teething problems, and not serious.

Here's a sample BBC HD recording taken from NPVR as it was playing. Near the beginning there is a stutter while the girl is talking which I see in GBPVR/NPVR and Media player. However after that media player recovers and plays the rest fine but GBPVR/PPVR do not.

For a full TS recording, what do I do? The option no longer appears in GBPVR config options nor NPVR. Assume I can add it to some config.xml?

Thanks for the TP info - I will have a go tomorrow or over the weekend.

There is no 'Full TS' option in NPVR, but you can do this in GB-PVR by setting the multiplexer to 'Full TS'.

Ah, yes, it wasn't playing narrative at the time I noticed either but it was mpeg and not AC3 (which for a channel with some 5.1 progs is not good) and it was labelled as NAR in the right button audio menu, so I believe every now and then they do broadcast a real narrative audio stream - which would be dead annoying.

The Full TS option has gone from GBPVR - not sure when or what I did... I've recorded from it before and uploaded to you. Cant see it obviously in the config.xml either.

You must be looking in the wrong place. It definitely couldnt be gone. Its on the Misc2 tab in the config app. Top left corner of the screen. 'BDA Multiplexer'.
