I like the thought of having a favourite channels facility .. in both the TV guide
+The ability to flick between a view with favourite-flagged channels and an all channels view would be good. Initial view would be in settings.

+ and in channel up /channel down when viewing . The favorites would be scrolled through with channel up / down when viewing. A non-favourite channel could be direct selected still in Live TV by entering its number.
Favourites would be set as a flag in channel setup. If you didnt want favourites functionality, you would select all channels as faves..

revision:
.. or maybe better than favourites would be the ability to group channel views ..eg channels would be a member of A B C or D and in the guide , one could flick between these view groups. eg you could group sports channels, your Sat channels, you news channels . the WAF channels - God forbid ....
Some set top boxes have a limited ability to allocate to fixed groups.

Not really worth a new thread but a question about the program. Will the program support 4 digit channel numbers? The only reason I ask is that Time Warner Cable here just moved into the 1xxx range for HD channel numbers. I noticed when I was surfing that it looked like it would not take a 4 digit number. I have not remapped yet but will soon and will have 4 digit QAM channels.

You should already be able to do 4 digital channel numbers.

Quick question on aspect ratios for analog recordings. Analog cards record 4:3 format files and in GBPVR if you set the video decoder to "system default" then it would play them back in widescreen (i.e. fill) rather than letterboxed. As 95% of my analog recordings (from a STB over svideo) are widescreen it would be nice to have this in NPVR? Have tried with default settings and it plays letterboxed in 4:3 (anamorphic format). I know I can press F7 but I miss the default setting. Any plans, thanks.

This was more of a short coming of GB-PVR, that it couldnt work out how to do the 'auto' aspect ratio control mode if you'd left the video decoder set to 'system default'. I'm not sure quite how you see that as a feature Big Grin

This is effectively the same as leaving NPVR in the 'Fill' aspect ratio mode.

I have a feature question for the Video Library.
Will there be some shortcuts for browsing the folders? Like Channel down to browse a pane at a time or support for entering a letter to get to this position? Furthermore it would be good if the list very circular (Key up gets you to the last item in the list).

You can already jump a page at a time with the skip keys, or page up/down keys.

...or am I misinterpreting your question?

This request came up in the past with GB-PVR a couple of times. I'm not fan of this idea. Sorry.

Sad indeed. This is one of the improvements that I was truly waiting patiently for since you made this post http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...post348273
