sounds like an access rights or ports/firewall issue...check your security settings on your Windows XP machine.
Also do you have mapped drives on your GBPVR machine you can access with your XP machine (to check your network is operating properly between the two?)

I also have a pb with the webadmin, which I have noticed only recently: I can't login with IE!

Now I use Firefox on my computers, so I didn't notice the pb at first. But yesterday I was elsewhere, and I couldn't login with IE. I thought it was a pb with my friend's computer, but then I tried with my computer using IE, and I had the same pb.

When I try to login, I get the error message: "Error finding config.xml" (it's written in black on top of the page, with a dark blue background so it's not easy to see).

So it must somehow be linked to IE's settings, since it works well with Firefox. By the way, I have the latest IE version on WinXP with all automatic updates.

No, javascript is enabled in IE settings.

I've downloaded build 14b of Web admin, and I don't get the "Error finding config.xml" anymore.

However, I get a new error message: "Invalid username or password". I tried several times, and I'm sure I didn't make any mistake. Moreover, it still works fine with Firefox. So this is still a pb with IE settings... Maybe one of their recent automatic updates messed something up!

Did anyone make any progress on this? I have the same problem whereby I log into webadmin with Firefox no problems but get "Invalid username or password" when using IE. Have tried all sorts of tweaks in IE settings but still no joy. Has anyone figured this one out? TIA

Problem Solved!!! I initially thought this was to do with the version of Java I have installed on my laptop (I have v1.3.1 with plugins to IE, not firefox and also the latest sun java v5? with plugins to Firefox, not IE - this was because I have to access applications that require different Java versions) so I uninstalled both and re-installed only the latest one. This DID NOT fix the problem.

I then thought about trying to change the cookie settings and this worked! I added the Public IP of the GB-PVR web server to my Always Allow cookies settings and I can now log in via IE (I always could with Firefox). Hope this helps other people with this issue.

Cheers, I'll remember that one for the future.
