Recorded Shows Not Showing Up In "Ready Recordings" Or "What's New"

Recorded shows don't show up under Ready Recordings or What's New sections of NPVR.
However, the shows are always recorded in the destination folder and playable in VLC.

I found out that when I stop and restart NPVR Service the recordings show up in both sections mentioned above. I have resolved to restarting the service every morning - a pain.

It's a known bug, it has to do with the EPG update not properly reloading the recording schedule. Sub has not said he's fixed this for the upcoming release, but I have to assume he has.

I've found that all I have to do to 'wake up' the recording service and get it to do a reload is delete a previously completed recording; so every morning when I get up I find a show that's a re-run or that I watched the night before and delete it.

Sometimes I have these symptoms, and the file never stopped recording (that is, the light on my HDHomeRun stays on and the file on disk just keeps on getting bigger). Sometimes, possibly unrelated to the last cause, once the recordings list updates it says that the recording service wasn't running, although it clearly was and the file is correct on disk. (That is, I just right-click and Open File it and it plays just fine.)

It's definitely quirky. I've not been able to establish what causes exactly which symptoms, and sometimes it even just works correctly, so I'm rather confused, but hoping that the promised next version "coming soon" addresses it, since it seems to (from other postings) address a lot of the other issues I have.

@johnsonx42, thanks for the info. I'll definitely give your work-around a try, it seems simpler than mine.

Update version 1.5.28 seem to have fixed the above issue.

yep, seems to have fixed it for me too. I had a very odd EPG update issue on the very first auto-update, but it seems to have been a one-time thing with no explanation. all's well for me on the EPG and recording fronts.
