Anyone else getting jamming on actions in the record window or settings recordings in 1.5.28 ? Im getting these in this release.
If I set a recording (either quick or long way) it jams the whole exe required a manual kill. Yet on re-entry it has set the record in place in the database. Same thing happens when deleting a recording in the recordings screen. This is a consistent and replicate-able thing. Logs attached , bit dont think they show much.
edit : note 2 versions of the nextpvr.exe active. The NRecord seems inactive as memory sticks solid..

sounds like firewall or something getting in the way between rec service and npvr..
[it uses network to communicate]
might try turning it off to test..

you shouldn't have two NextPVR.exe's running

That is not strictly correct, if you have another look you will see one is running under SYSTEM & the other is running under peter, this is quite normal if you are running MVP servers for use with MVP's or NMT's.

yes, I think thats another issue.. , tho might be related. the EPG auto update process wont complete - the exe [system user] sticks on, and requires manual termination. Still get this jamming issue after I reboot or whatever.. Its nothing if not consistent!! Looks like Im in for a from-scratch reinstall..

I don't think the second instance is the issue, my EPG update always starts a new NextPVR. process in the batch file I use to d/l and import the EPG

"C:\Program Files\NPVR\NextPVR.exe" -updateepgonly

This works reliably in parallel to any actual PC instance and NMT instance I have running.

right, but as chalkster observes, if you launch an extra instance of NextPVR.exe for the epg update, it should terminate when it's completed. his sig also makes no mention of any nmt or pch. so it doesn't appear that extra instance should be there.

by the way chalkster, you don't have the "nextpvr.exe -updateepgonly" command in your updateepg.bat file do you? if so, take it out. it shouldn't be there; that command is only used for updating the epg indendantly of the automatic epg update.

No. its not there for sometime now. but I had tried it when using xml files as source earlier...
Yr right, Goof call, I dont have an NMT or cleint setup.. waiting for things to settke a bit..
tho, I have got rid of the probs with jamming in the recording screen w full removal and reinstall of app ..
Will advise status on the auto-update shortly.

after a week or so now and I still have the dual instances of nextpvr running when bringing the pc out of suspend each evening . I kill off the existing process (running under system) as it tends to foul the foreground process. Any ideas why this auto-update version is not terminating cleanly? Its a proper annoyance and a daily chore.
