windows 7 library

Is there any way to get NPVR to treat a windows 7 library as if it were a media folder? The "Videos Library" plugin has yet to be ported over, but if I could add a windows 7 library as if it were a folder then I wouldn't need to wait.

A great idea, but wouldn't that make it incompatible with XP (and 2000)?

I know Media Player Classic HC treats libraries as if they were folders, and it works with xp. So I'd think so but I'm the wrong person to ask...if you were asking me.

As the win7 libraries didn't work, I use Symbolic links instead.

It's good enough.

Would this method require me to make shortcuts every time I want to drop a load of video files in one of my directories?

If you add a new folder, you will need to add that as a symbollink.
But new files in an existing folder do not require new links.

In my case I have one move per folder, so I have a scheduled task that runs the script every day.
This way I pick up all changes automaticly - both new and removed movies.

The thing is that you get an unhandled exception if the folder behind a symbol link have been removed. Other than that all works perfectly.
Actually I have also added a "NET USE" command in the script for all my mapped network drives, as I had some problem with remapping after power downs...
