My duplicate recordings are back. They dissappeared after loading 1.3.51 but then returned slowly.

They accumulate over time. Initially there will be only one recording. But over several days the system will start to schedule more and more simultaneous recordings of the same show.

I am wondering if they are triggered by occassionally having no data for some channels in the epg. Just speculating.

Note my duplicates are only occuring for NEWA recordings. I mainly use title search.

Input on debug would be appreciated.

Ok...it seems to be related to something happening with your EPG load....the below two scheduled recording entries are for the same event....but they have different OID's which tells me that the EPG may have been emptied and reloaded or something causing the event to get a new OID thus get another scheduled recording.

The below is from the cached EPGEvent info that is stored on the scheduled recording.

I'll ask sub to take a look and see if this is a normal behavior somehow......

Note I dont have duplicates for series recordings submitted using the standard recording tool. I think sub added some updates for duplicate recordings recently. He may have some ideas.

Ok...I know it really isn't a NEWA thing....it is something with the EPG process that is causing the issue. I did send sub an off-line e-mail to take a look....I am sure he will chime in when he has a few minutes.

If you hit Update EPG in the NPVR Settings screen, and recheck, are duplicates there? If so, post your npvr.log and the names/times of some of the example duplicates.

Can see your various season recordings being processed, but I cant see these. I do see others like 'Life', 'Seven Ages of Britain', 'World News Australia' etc....but no magic roundabout or night garden.

Do you see these as a season recordings in the 'recurring' list of the Recordings screen?

No these are not in the "recurring" list. These are scheduled using NEWA using a keyword search for title "The Magic Roundabout" and "In the night garden".

I do have season recordings in the recurring list for "Play School". These were setup using the standard recording tool in NPVR. These do not result in any duplicates. The duplicates only occur with the NEWA scheduled recordings.

Is it possible to add a filter to the EPG Update process that eliminates recordings where the channel and title are the same and the recordings overlap or where the recordings start within 10 minutes of each other ?
