Things were working great, then suddenly my nPVR program started having problems opening the recordings screen. The logs (see attached) show the following error:

Quote:[ERROR][1] Unexpected error saving scheduled recording: System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteException: The database file is locked

I saw a similar thread (http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...er+address) but it does not appear to apply (I have not manually edited the config.xml file and I have searched it and NoRemoveWhenTreeMissing is set to "true"). I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling nPVR several times...a couple of times after removing the system plugin/skin (the last change I remember making before the problem occurred).

I have found the recording screen will eventually load after a long time (e.g., 5-10 minutes or so). I have had this problem for about 1 week and the computer has been rebooted several times over that time, so I don't think there should be any memory resident program using the database unless it is getting loaded by npvr.

Any idea what is locking up the database and how to prevent this?

I cant see any obvious cause in that log. Can you also post your nrecord.log?

Where is that located?...I have several "nrecord#.log" files in the "log" directory of the uploaded zip...are those what you need? This was the entire C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR\log directory. If that did not have what you need, can you tell me where on my hard drive I should find what you are looking for? Thanks!

So you have what you need from the original zip files "logs" sub-directory?

I saw the same problem with mine last night in the weblog. Came back today and it is fine again. The recording service was hung at the time though, which happens fairly regularly on mine. Last night was the first time I saw the database locked message though.

Mine is now working thismorning. I suspect I may be having problems like skreien as I usually do not get to it this early and it records an early morning show. I think the reason things worked today was that the computer was freshly booted and nothing had recorded. I'll play with this some more and post the results, but I suspect it only locks up after the recording service has been active.

Well, it looks like I can not produce the problem any more. I suspect the re-installation solved things but not until after a reboot or two. Any how...sorry to cry wolf!

This problem suddenly reared its head for me again last night (I last saw it when testing the 1.5.36pre-beta)

after hacking around for ages, I isolated the issue the issue out as being related to one or more rows in the scheduled_recordings table (can't recall exact table name).
I removed all the rows (using sql browser), restarted the recording service, re-imported the shows and the locking problem was resolved. i thought this might help anyone else who experiences this issue.

Sub, I will try and reproduce the problem if I still have a backup of the database.
