Multidec almost working - Cannot record multiple shows

Hi,

I have been following the thread http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...MD-to-work, but as my problems are different I thought to open my own thread.

I have got the newcs server running, the acamd connects and I can watch and record ONE show. NPVR allows me to record or watch a parallell show but I get nothing but black screen on that show.

I also have problems getting newcsgui 1.2 to run (System error code 193, %1 is not a valid win32 application) and I am wondering if there is a way to execute newcs in quiet mode?

Attaching the output from both newcs and acamd when recording one show (Ch: 283 - TVNZ ) and watching another (Ch: 256 - TVNZ).

NPVR logs are also attached.

Any ideas? Is there any other setting I need to do?

The message about Newcsgui.exe strongly suggest a corrupted file. Another remark, you should NOT have smartcard.conf present when you are using a cardserver (ie. NewCS), this file is for Acamd standalone. I can see in the log that Acamd is trying to access the cardreader, maybe this disturbs NewCS, maybe not. Anyway, when a cardserver is in use it should take care of all communication with the smartcard.

Did you set "Instances" to more than one in device setup? And put the acamd-files in each subdir. with different users in each cardclient.conf?

Thats what I'd guess is the problem.

I have downloaded a new set of files from http://www.dvbskystar.com/down_softcam.html but am still getting the error. Since it is working anyway I thought to skip the gui app but would like the newcs to run in quiet mode. Any ideas?

Thanks Reddwarf, although I had already tried that version of newcsgui. It turned out that the problem was the path where I was executing newcs from. Moving it to c:\newcs and all started to work. I suspect the problem being related to spaces in the path.

Moved it from: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR\MDPlugins\NewCS" to "C:\newcs".

ok, so I got things to work. However, the solution seem to be very unstable. I start to record a show but after a while it loses the decryption and the recording end up bad. I will try to capture logs the next time it happens but is anyone able to see if the newcs startup log is showing something suspect. I also attach the newcs.xml.

I am using a phoenix card reader configured as a USB Serial port on COM3. The card is using conax cryption.

I am alson not sure what connection string I should have in cardclient.conf

It happends sometimes to me that NewCS says "Unknown Card" when trying to start up. I just kill it and start again, and that usually fixes the problem.

Thanks Reddwarf, I still have stability problems and I am trying different setups.

I have however discovered another multirecord problem that I can not figure out. Currently I have 2 multidec instances setup. If I start to record two prallell shows it works fine but if I cancel one recording and try to watch another channel NPVR gives me the "unable to find available capture device" for some of the channels wheras other work.

In the attached logs you will see that I start by recording channels TV3 and Kanal5, then cancels the Kanal5 recording. After that I am allowed to watch channel 7 but not TV4 Komedi.

I guess this is a NPVR issue rather than my multidec setup?
