\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR\

This is the folder that needs to be shared too.

Martin

Waiting for answer like this will try and post back. THX
**Edit** found the NPVR.db3 file in that location...thought I'd been searching hidden folders but must not have...Still don't know why I didn't find a registry entry.
**Edit** when I tried to share it is said it was already being shared...didn't indicate it with the hand on the folder?

That leading colon is troubling but I suspect your share point is wrong unless you are sharing the entire C Drive. Maybe try removing \documents and settings\all users ?

Yes ":" was me. Now error is "server database not found at: \\400sc\npvr\npvr.db3 "
I made sure the folder on the server "400sc" was shared. NPVR folder in the ...."all users\application data" folder. It did want a share name...I gave it the NPVR name as a share name.

If you mapped NPVR to "...all users\application data" then I would suggest that you need \\400sc\npvr\npvr You can also try the IP instead of 400sc if you are having DNS issues.

Thanks... will try more tomorrow.
Not having DNS issues. 400SC is accessible from 2 WD TVLive, 1 xbox 360, one windows 7 home machine, 2 xp pro and 1 xp mce (xp Pro) machine.

Thanks again for all the help, can't spend any more time now...really, really appreciate the responses.

Help I'm getting here is better than most paid support, I understand the difficulties involved with so many different configurations and hardware.

UPDATE **** Couldn't sleep, stupid mistake....Realized I'd shared the NPVR folder in c:\\program files\npvr while trying to troubleshoot. That must be why it asked for a share name when I shared the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR folder. When I unshared both then re-shared the folder shown above by mvallevand "The support file aren't in the Program Files on XP I think they are in the hidden directory \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR\...Martin" I was then able to see the Server from the client. I can now see the recorded programs and I don't get errors. I cant see any video yet, but it could be that the client win xp mce edition does not have the correct player on it. Yesterday I had to install Pinnacle v6 on the server just do get the usb hdtv tuner working. Will try other clients in the morning (win XP) and try different player codec on win xp mce machine to see if I get video. Will start new thread if unable to fix.

***US only ATSC tuner*** windows XP does not have c:\\Users\Public folder. To install npvr on xp and have web server work you need to create this folder first and share it. You can also just point the client to the npvr.db3 file found in the xp machine @ \documents and settings\all users\application data\npvr location, you must also share this folder first.

Hope what I said was correct, if you are a moderator and it is wrong please change or edit it. Hopefully the next person with this issue will search and find this post. Thanks again for the help!!!!

***Edit*** Still waiting for a reply from Pinnacle Support for the 800e usp hdtv hybrid tuner...TVCenter V6 (doesn't start up properly). Decided to look for an alternative when I found NPVR. I've paid for the other software that doesn't work and still can't get help, plus they would want me to pay extra for the networking feature. I had almost instant help on the forums. I'm confident I'll get the rest working properly...and I know I'll get more help if I need it. I saw in some of the post that you could donate to PayPal...I also saw that they seized your account. Don't know when that happened. If I can donate please reply with a new paypal account. Thanks
